The children had so much fun taking part in a hands-on sensory activity as they searched through the “washing powder” to find hidden clothes before scooping, pouring and sorting them into bowls. 🥣✨

What better way to enjoy the sunshine than getting outside and cooling off with some water play?

The children had lots of fun exploring with sea animals and boats, creating their own little adventures as they splashed, poured and played.

Water play is always a hit, especially on warm days, and it’s a great way for children to explore, use their imaginations and just enjoy being outdoors.

🎨 Time to get creative! 🖌️

Our little artists have been busy exploring colour and creativity outdoors.

Using brushes, rollers and their hands, the children enjoyed making marks, mixing colours and experimenting with different ways to paint.

Messy paint play is not only lots of fun, but it also gives children the freedom to explore, get creative and express themselves.

We loved seeing their colourful creations! 🎨

We love helping the children learn about the importance of healthy eating - not just at snack time, but through play too.

From enjoying colourful vegetable sticks at snack time to exploring fruits and vegetables through our tuff tray activities, we are always encouraging children to discover different foods and make healthy choices.

🌿☀️ Outdoor play 🌿☀️

We all know how much better we feel after spending some time in the fresh air - and it’s exactly the same for children!

Whether they’re running around with friends, heading off on a bug hunt or taking their favourite toys and activities outdoors, every day brings a new adventure in our outdoor space.

Being outside gives the children the chance to burn off energy, explore their surroundings, build confidence and let their little imaginations run wild.

We should all make the most of the great outdoors! 🌿🪴☀️

The Very Hungry Caterpillar came to nursery! 🐛

Inspired by the much-loved book, the children enjoyed exploring their own colourful food-themed tuff tray!

Using different coloured rice to represent the caterpillar’s journey through all the delicious foods in the story, the children had fun scooping, pouring and transferring the rice into different containers.

Sensory activities like this at our nursery encourage curiosity and imagination while supporting fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, early problem-solving and an understanding of colours, textures, quantities and patterns.

🏖️ Sand play 🏖️

Whether they’re pouring, scooping or filling containers, children are developing important skills through hands-on play.
As they explore the sand, they begin to understand early mathematical foundations such as full and empty, more and less, and measuring and comparing quantities.
They are also strengthening their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they grip, pour and control different tools and containers.
Sand play also provides a calming sensory experience, helping children to regulate their emotions, build concentration and enjoy exploring at their own pace.
