Phrases like "got my back up" "a pain in the neck" ... They originate from the felt experience people had.
We had "hurty heart" among me and my siblings growing up and it felt like a real shared experience.

I'm right there with you - I love to over complicate things and take the hard route.
If you fancy changing course, here are some simple things you can do to reconnect with your body today ✨
1. Throw all the plans out the window and ask yourself what you REALLY want for breakfast - make it - eat it.
2. Set a 5 minute timer and move through parts of your body sharing an inner or outer narrative of love and gratitude for each part you move to.
3. Let yourself experiment with having a conversation with yourself. Getting stuck with a belief, decision, or challenge? Write down what all the different voices inside you say (there's always at least 2). Let them all speak and have their turn - see what happens. You can do this aloud too for even greater impact.
4. Listen to my free recenter & reconnect listening practice (comment CONNECT) - it's 12 minutes... And all you have to do is be present to it.

When your brain feels foggy and isn't playing ball.
When you tell yourself you need to moan less, be happier, and get more organised.
When you're steeped in guilt because you raised your voice at your child.
When you injure yourself or get ill and feel furious at your body for stopping you from doing everything you need to do.
When you tell yourself everyday that "you'll be more productive tomorrow".
When you cower away in embarrassment because you let your true laugh out.
In every one of these interactions with your body you are informing yourself that some part of your functioning is not acceptable.
That it's not working hard enough, being enough, or doing as it's told.
These are the messages that you are directing towards yourself each time you repeat one of these (or similar) interactions.
While reparenting, and bringing nurture to ourselves is really important - first we must allow these parts of us to exist.
We must see them, and give them permission to be a part of our experience.
Next time you notice yourself feeling embarrassed or annoyed with some aspect of your being, I invite you to pause. Take a moment to notice the part of yourself you are feeling some way toward.
You don't have to tell it you love it, or that you're happy it's there - simply notice it as part of you.

Some facts:
