Smiling Angels Lunar Cycle Parenting Sparks.

Being a conscious parent is a journey to self rediscovery through the child.
As children being so in phase with the Lunar cycle and ask questions about the moon we must follow on the steps of our Sages of the Baobab Tree of life and share Consciousness as The School of life .

Each Moon energy has an effect on us in particular ways, and this has consequences in our family lives.
The ancients , did everything mindfully taking into account the lunar cycle as this not only impacted the family but the clan. Tribes gathered under the Palaver tree and insightfully advised the clan of the upcoming opportunities or challenges they may encounter. The School of life was a place where meaningful tools were given to elders, families, children to live harmoniously with the Cycle of Mother Earth. Women being very cyclic needed to understand the astronomy of their Sacred Womb , the inner Moon to keep the equilibrium of the interconnection of the family lives .They created activities in phase with the New moon or full moon ... They shared parenting tips with one another and specially their daughters to help them balance and retrieve themselves in the Moody Mother Moon as it reflected on young girls. These kept us all connected with one another and but importantly grounded in our spiritual beliefs and rituals.

We are Nature . To Center ourselves I believe we need ground ourselves to reroot ourselves with Mother Earth.

I found this photograph in a newspaper a long time ago, and it’s stayed with me ever since.. These children’s smiles, their joy!

The photo has been a reminder for me over the years that young children don’t need much… Love, the outdoors, some modeling of goodness.. (A horse would be nice, too. 😉)

I’ve found that so many of us teachers and parents wonder, “Am I doing enough?” And ironically the answer is usually that we are doing too much.

Maria Montessori makes the point well, related to pampering children:

“We are completely on the wrong track when we believe that expensive toys should keep a child happy, or that the child who has a nanny to do everything for him is particularly fortunate. In reality it is the child of the busy mother, who is left to try and do things for himself, left to improvise toys from simple things and use his own ingenuity, who is fortunate. … [C]hildren with cupboards full of toys are often bored and naughty, while the child who is left alone takes pleasure in very simple things and is happily absorbed for hours at a time in work of his own choosing.”

Let’s pause our buying and our hovering, and just let children be. We’ll all have more smiles and more joy as a result!
