Today was a wonderful moment of discovery and independence 🌱
Our toddler confidently explored the room, moving between different areas with curiosity and purpose.

In the book corner, she chose a sensory “touch and feel” book and became completely absorbed in the experience.

Carefully turning each page, she explored the textures by rubbing and feeling them with her hands — a beautiful example of hands-on learning in action.

She remained focused for a sustained period, showing impressive concentration while engaging independently.

Moments like these support the development of sensory awareness, fine motor skills, and a growing understanding of the world around her.

Baby Room Weekly Highlights🌼

We’ve had a lovely week in the baby room filled with curiosity, exploration, and early learning Our days began with circle time, where the children enjoyed singing, peekaboo, and exploring instruments—supporting their communication and listening skills.

Sensory play was a big highlight, with water trays, fruits, vegetables, and herb playdough encouraging little hands to explore textures, smells, and movement.

The home corner and construction areas were full of activity, helping children develop confidence, social skills, and early problem-solving.

Physical play at the baby gym, along with sand and water activities, supported both gross and fine motor development.

We also embraced our spring theme through imaginative play with colours, insects, and seasonal objects—sparking creativity and curiosity about the world around them 🌱

Learning Through Play – Shape Hunt Fun!

Our preschoolers had a fantastic time during the shape hunt activity, showing great enthusiasm and engagement throughout!

They confidently named a range of shapes and even demonstrated brilliant self-correction—initially calling a shape a square, then carefully observing and recognising it was actually a circle.

They eagerly explored the room to find real-life objects matching each shape, successfully identifying them along the way.

With a little guidance, they were also able to find an object for a rectangle—showing perseverance and a willingness to learn.

They showed:
Strong shape recognition skills
Confidence in naming shapes
Ability to reflect and self-correct
Positive response to support and guidance

Messy Paint Activity

The children enjoyed a messy paint activity where they explored painting a tree using brushes and their fingers.

They showed great enthusiasm while experimenting with colours and textures, developing their creativity and sensory awareness.
During the activity, the children practised sharing resources and taking turns while dipping brushes into the paint. When asked what they were painting, they attempted to repeat the word “tree,” supporting their early language development.

This activity supported key EYFS areas:

🗣 Communication and Language – Encouraging children to repeat words and engage in simple conversations.

✋ Physical Development – Strengthening fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination through painting and mark-making.
🤝 Personal, Social and Emotional Development – Promoting sharing, turn-taking, and cooperative play.

Toddler Room Weekly Highlight

We’re excited to share the wonderful experiences our toddlers have been enjoying this month! With the warmer weather, our little ones have been exploring a variety of fun, hands-on activities that support their growth and development. ☀️

💙 A big highlight was our sensory turf tray, where children explored blue jelly and chia seeds—mixing colors, creating vibrant masterpieces, and enjoying different textures. Lots of smiles, squishes, and creativity all around!

🐟 Water play was another favourite, with toddlers using small nets to catch fish—building hand-eye coordination and focus while having lots of fun.

🛝 Outdoor adventures at the park gave children the chance to climb, slide, and develop their gross motor skills, growing in confidence as they explored.

🎨 We also enjoyed outdoor mark-making and creative play, where children used Legos to build their own structures—encouraging imagination, problem-solving, and teamwork.

It’s been a joyful month full of exploration, creativity, and learning! Thank you for your continued support—we can’t wait for more exciting adventures ahead! 💛

✨Baby Room Weekly Highlight✨

What a fun-filled week we’ve had in the Baby Room! 💛

Our little ones enjoyed daily circle time with rhymes and musical toys, helping them build early communication skills while settling into a calm routine. We also practiced our golden rules—kindness, sharing, and gentle hands.

From stacking soft blocks on the carpet to exploring storybooks and sensory textures, the children showed curiosity and joy in every activity.

🦁 Wild animal play sparked imagination with fun sounds and learning
🚂 Sensory and construction play supported fine motor skills and creativity

Creative time included insect-inspired sensory printing, while our turf tray (with farm, eggs, and sea themes) offered exciting hands-on exploration.

We ended each day with stories and rhymes, supporting language development in a warm and nurturing environment.

Turf Tray activity inspired by Handa’s Surprise! 🍎🍌🍊

Our toddlers had a wonderful time exploring a turf tray activity inspired by Handa’s Surprise!

They confidently recognised and named a variety of fruits, carefully selecting each one and placing them into the basket all by themselves. It was lovely to see their focus and independence shine through as they engaged with the activity.

This experience supported key areas of development highlighted in the EYFS:

Communication & Language – toddlers used their growing vocabulary to identify and name familiar fruits.

Physical Development – picking up and placing the fruits helped strengthen fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination.

Understanding the World – linking the activity to Handa’s Surprise helped deepen their connection to stories and real-life objects.

A fun, hands-on way to build confidence, coordination, and language skills all at once! 💛
