๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ’ Around the World in a Day! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿง
Our pre-schoolers took their learning outside the classroom and went on a wild adventure to the zoo! ๐ŸšŒโœจ

Lately, weโ€™ve been learning all about the world's seven continents, and today was the perfect chance to see the amazing animals that call them home. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ๐Ÿ”

๐ŸŽ’ Ready for the next big step! ๐ŸŽ’

Check out our preschoolers practicing their writing skills after today's phonics session!

One of our main goals at Little Agnes Nursery is building a strong foundation for school. We work hard to ensure that all children leaving our nursery to head to Reception are confident writers and excellent communicators.

Judging by todayโ€™s focus and smiles, they are well on their way! ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ™Œ

๐ŸŽจ The Gallery Continues: Part 2 of Our Artist Study! ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธโœจ

The creativity just keeps flowing! Our little creators have moved onto the second chapter of our art exploration, diving even deeper into the world of famous painters and sculptors.

๐Ÿง  Why We Revisit & Repeat
In the EYFS, learning isn't just a one-time event! Reaching "Part 2" of a project allows children to:
โ€ข Build Persistence: Refining their techniques and trying again.
โ€ข Deepen Understanding: Moving from simple recognition to truly experimenting with an artist's "style."
โ€ข Boost Confidence: Seeing their skills evolve from their first piece to their second!

๐ŸŽจ Mini Masterpieces in the Making! ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธโœจ

Our preschool has been transformed into a vibrant art gallery! Our young creators have been diving deep into the world of famous artists, exploring different styles, textures ans imagination.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Exploring the Greats

From the bold, swirling colors of Van Gogh to the abstract shapes of Monet, the children have been observing how different artists express feelings and ideas. Itโ€™s been incredible to hear their interpretations of classic worksโ€”proof that youโ€™re never too young to appreciate fine art!

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Texture, Color, and Imagination

To bring their inspirations to life, the children experimented with a wide range of materials:
โ€ข Watercolors and Acrylics for fluid strokes and bold pops of color.
โ€ข Clay and Dough to explore 3D forms and sculpture.
โ€ข Collage Materials like tissue paper, fabric scraps, and natural find to add texture and depth.
โ€ข Chalk Pastels for blending and creating soft, dreamy effects.

๐ŸŒŸ Why Art Matters (
In the Early Years Foundation Stage, "Expressive Arts and Design" is a vital area of learning. By exploring different materials and artists, our preschoolers are:
โ€ข Developing Fine Motor Skills: Using brushes, scissors, and sculpting tools.
โ€ข Critical Thinking: Making choices about color, shape, and composition.
โ€ข Self-Expression: Finding confidence in sharing their thoughts and feelings through their creations.

A rich creative curriculum helps children develop the "cultural capital" they need to succeed, fostering a lifelong curiosity about the world and the beautiful things within it.
Check out some of our "work in progress" shots below! We might just have the next Picasso in our midst. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŽจ

๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ Body Parts Exploration: Part 2! ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

Our discovery of the human body continues! After learning about our hips, shoulders, and chests, we took our knowledge to the next level today with some hands-on "Human Body Puzzles."

โœ‚๏ธ Precision & Placement
Our little learners were hard at work practicing their fine motor skills. Using safety scissors, they carefully cut out different organs and body parts, focusing on:
โ€ข Coordination: Navigating those tricky curves with their scissors.
โ€ข Spatial Awareness: Figuring out exactly where each piece belongs on the body map.
โ€ข Problem Solving: Recalling our lessons from earlier this week to match the "lung" to the chest and the "brain" to the head!

We are so impressed with their concentration and accuracy today! Check out our busy surgeons in action below. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ“ธ

๐ŸŒŸ Healthy Bodies, Happy Minds! ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธ

Our Owls have been busy discovering the amazing things their bodies can do! This week, we took a deep dive into anatomy and wellness, and the curiosity has been endless.

๐Ÿฆด Body Awareness
Weโ€™ve been identifying and moving different parts of our bodies. From wiggling our shoulders and rotating our hips to feeling our chests rise and fall as we breathe, the children are developing a fantastic sense of physical self-awareness!

We didnโ€™t just stop at movement; we talked about how to keep our "engines" running smoothly through healthy eating. We explored a rainbow of fruits and vegetables and chatted about which foods help us grow strong and stay energized for playtime.

Ask your child tonight: "What is one way we can keep our bodies healthy?" You might be surprised by their expert answers!

๐ŸŒŸ Our Little Explorers Had a Busy Day! ๐ŸŒŸ
There is nothing quite like the joy of messy hands and big smiles! Today, our babies dived into a world of sensory wonder and discovery. From squishy textures to splashing fun, every moment was an opportunity to learn and grow.
๐ŸŽจ Sensory & Splash Time
We explored a variety of hands-on activities that kept those curious minds racing:
โ€ข Play Dough Fun: Rolling, squishing, and building to develop those fine motor skills.
โ€ข Water Play & Loose Parts: Exploring different shapes and textures in the water.
โ€ข Five Little Ducks: We splashed around with our rubber duckies while singing along to "Three Little Ducks" (and maybe a few more!).
๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท Language & Literacy
It wasnโ€™t just about the play; it was about the words!
โ€ข We practiced our animal sounds (quack quack!).
โ€ข The little ones even began picking up new words in French!
โ€ข Through storytelling and teacher-led play, the babies are getting so much better at listening and understanding two-sentence instructions.
๐Ÿช‚ Parachute Play & Movement
The highlight of the day was definitely the parachute!
โ€ข Dancing & Jumping: Burning off all that wonderful energy.
โ€ข Color Recognition: Spotting all the bright colors as the parachute soared above us.
โ€ข Social Skills: Learning the beautiful art of playing alongside our friends and sharing the space.
Watching them navigate new experiences with such confidence is truly the best part of our day. Check out some of the highlights below! ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ• A Taste of Italy in Preschool! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ
Our little chefs had an incredible day diving into culture, science, and healthy eating! We believe in providing real-life experiences that connect children to the world around them.
Todayโ€™s adventure started with a trip to the local shop! The children helped pick out fresh ingredients for our afternoon cooking session, learning about where our food comes from and how to make healthy choices.
Back in the kitchen, we teamed up with our wonderful Italian Chef to make authentic Pizzetta! ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿง€
What we learned today:
โ€ข The Science of Baking: We watched in wonder as the dough began to rise. It was a fantastic "hands-on" science lesson about yeast and patience! ๐Ÿงชโœจ
โ€ข Fine Motor Skills: Tiny hands were busy rolling out the dough and practicing careful tool use.
โ€ข Life Skills: Using child-safe knives, our preschoolers sliced juicy tomatoes and shredded mozzarella to create their masterpieces. ๐Ÿ”ช๐ŸŽ
โ€ข Cultural Discovery: Exploring Italian flavors and traditions with an expert!
From the shop shelf to the oven, it was a joy to see the children so engaged, proud, and hungry for more!

โ˜€๏ธ Outdoor Play: Where Learning Meets Adventure! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŒณ

Our toddlers have been busy on the move today! Whether they were jumping, running, or playing games, theyโ€™ve been working hard on their physical development and coordination.
But at our setting, we know that outdoor play is about so much more than just burning off energy. Following the EYFS framework, we turn every game into a learning opportunity:
โ€ข Mathematics: Counting our jumps and measuring how far we can run! ๐Ÿ”ข
โ€ข Social Skills: Learning the importance of turn-taking and building beautiful friendships. ๐Ÿค
โ€ข Communication & Language: Using new words to describe our movements and narrating our play. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ
The great outdoors offers endless possibilities for children to grow, thrive, and discover the world around them. We are committed to providing the very best environment for our little learners to develop skills that last a lifetime! ๐ŸŒŸ
