This page is about offering advice to Zimbabwean teachers who are planning to migrate to the UK.

Hello maMoyo. Please can you kindly assist me by asking teachers who have left Zimbabwe and are teaching abroad, kuti where exactly did they get their letters to prove that they are eligible to teach in other countries, for example in South Africa, SACE gives that letter.

Thank you.
🙏

Teachers that have made it to UK please help anon.

👋
It's been very quiet.
It's exams season. Agencies are quiet too.

Xmas season is here.
It's time to celebrate with family and friends. Here some people actually choose to work on Xmas Day because they have noone to celebrate with, others choose to work because they get paid double. When we get the opportunity to be with family and friends we make sure we enjoy ourselves.

The Xmas season is here.
The busiest time of the year.
The way Xmas is celebrated here is phenomenal. It's overly commercialised.
What is the true meaning of Xmas?
I'm always mesmerised by how people decorated their houses.

On the other hand, not everyone celebrates Xmas. So you need to be mindful that you're not enforcing what you believe in on others. So instead it's always great to say to your students" If you celebrate Xmas, merry Xmas.'

Happy Weekend

👋
Immigration is still a huge topic.
These are the proposed changes for next year. The good news is the gvt understands that teachers are still needed and it will take you only 5yrs to get your Idefinite leave to remain.
So don't give up.
The reason it's quiet at the moment is that schools are struggling financially so it will be cheaper to recruit someone locally.

We are still holidaying! Most schools in England resume the 1st of week of September and others in the 2nd week.

A levels and GCSE Results are out.

Hopefully there will be teaching opportunities at the beginning of the new academic year.

It was a very emotional day for me as it was the last day in primary school for my daughter. Do you cry when your child is transitioning to secondary school? I was an emotional wreck, l couldn't hold back the tears. Other mums, teachers and children were crying too. The school had tissues ready for the children.

NB: We slept very late last night as she needed to sort presents for teachers and decorating her shirt.

This is the time many teachers leave either for promotion, greener pastures or just because their circumstances have changed. ( e.g one teacher was going to Dubai and another had found a job near home) Henceforth, applying for jobs before the end of the academic year is very crucial. At this school the head teacher was leaving as well as 5 other teachers! Sometimes schools may not even be able to replace all the teachers and have to rely on agencies to supply them with temporary teachers.

Keep applying, it's not an easy journey.

Where are the jobs??
I have been checking non- stop for the subjects in great demand but to no avail.

Here's the truth
✅️By now most schools would have recruited for Sept, which is the new academic year.
✅️This year has been quiet in terms of recruitment.
✅️I believe the introduction of apprenticeships in teaching has stalled recruitment of overseas trained teachers.

So what can you do?

✍️Keep applying, opportunities are always coming up.
✍️Register with many agencies.
✍️Teachers leave jobs throughout the year, you could land yourself in a job in Dec, Jan, April etc

Don't give up!
