Posted • Day 2 of Cannes: Amma Asante's BILLION DOLLAR SPY launches its first look still of Russell Crowe and Harry Lawtey sharing secrets in this cold war espionage thriller.

They are joined by an amazing cast: Vera Farmiga, Willa Fitzgerald, Tony Goldwyn, Rufus Sewell and Justin Theroux.

BILLION DOLLAR SPY is based on the true story of Soviet spy Adolf Tolkachev (Crowe) with Lawtey playing his CIA handler inside Moscow Station, eager recruit Tom Lenihan. Adolf Tolkachev was among the CIA’s most invaluable assets during the Cold War. Disillusioned with the Soviet regime, Tolkachev risked his life to pass thousands of pages of top-secret intelligence to the United States.

What I love about movies is collaborating with different artists in different fields. We create together while each of us focuses on our own craft. While I am thinking about my character Mariamne having to face husband here is maintaining his part of the character in his incredible creation of make up and hair.
