Yesterday was my birthday. I ate and drank what I wanted and enjoyed every mouthful. Personal trainers are human too 🤣 (but yes I did get my workout and my 10,000 steps in)

Come on sun, where are you? It’s July you know!

Sometimes yoga just feels like the best way to start the day. Good for mental focus and to stretch out muscles which may have become tight overnight as well as mobilising stiff joints. It can be one helluva workout too, if you choose the right style!

Stretching is so important for overall health and well-being, both physically and mentally. If yoga isn’t your thing, try Pilates or some good old fashioned static stretching but make sure to include it in your weekly exercise routine!

Something I hear from clients regularly is “I’m eating healthy foods but I’m still not losing weight!”

Just because something is healthy or nutritious, doesn’t mean it doesn’t contain calories and won’t stall or slow weight loss if overeaten.

Keep an eye on your portion sizes even for “healthy/clean” foods. These foods are usually lower in calories and more nutrient dense than highly palatable junk and processed foods, however you need to be in a calorie deficit in order to lose body fat. Period.

Want to learn to do full push-ups? It can be pretty disheartening when you try but can’t even manage one. 😟
Start with an easy variation and very gradually work your way up these different stages and you’ll get there! It won’t happen overnight, but each of these stages will get you closer to the full version. 💪

There are so many fad diets out there, it’s hard to know what to do!

You don’t have to exclude entire food groups or macronutrients from your diet to lose weight. At the end of the day, a healthy diet full of nutrient dense foods from natural sources is preferential for good health. Reducing your total daily calorie intake will result in weight loss.

You can eat healthy carbs and lose weight. You can eat healthy fats and lose weight. Choose a way of eating you enjoy and can stick with. Just don’t forget to eat enough protein!

Taking the afternoon off work (as I’ve barely taken any holiday in the last 16 months. I worked out hard this morning, so I’ve earned myself a cocktail or 2 😁

Can you guess what it is?

Salad season - yay! I’m addicted to the miso tahini dressing I make to give my salads an Asian flavour. What’s your favourite salad dressing?

Working unilaterally (or one leg at a time) is so important for building equal strength in your legs and evening out imbalances.

These variations will test your balance and make your core have to work harder too! Talk about bang for your buck!

Another lovely comment from a happy client during our session ☺️

The most important thing is how good working out makes you feel, but it sure is nice when other people notice how good you look as a result 😊😊😊

How many times have you fallen into the trap of “eating something you shouldn’t have”, then feeling you need to exercise really hard to “undo the damage”? I know I’ve been guilty of these feelings.

Exercise should be something you enjoy, that makes you feel good/ strong/ like a bad-ass/ happy/ accomplished/ positive/ all of the above.

If you treat exercise as punishment, you’ll associate it with negative emotions. Treat it as a celebration of what your body can do!
