Dear Parents,

Can we set high expectations for our child/ren?

Simply, Yes.

We need to set a high expectation to ensure we as parents know what we would like our child to achieve. Consequently, this will mean we do the following;

1. Ensure we maximise our support with our child. Checking daily perhaps how they are coping with their studies. Do they need additional support? Do they have enough resources e.g. revision guides?

2. Check if they require a tutor.

Many children benefit significantly from a different setting other than School. If they require a tutor, are you aware of what to expect from the tutor?

a. Ensure you set expectations with the tutor, this will increase transparency and also allow you and your child to set goals on what you want to achieve from the additional learning.

b. Discuss with the tutor in regular intervals to check the progress of your child.

3. Help them work smarter.

a. Not all revision techniques work, check which one they prefer the most.

b. Planning from NOW is essential to avoid stress and panic at the last minute.

More to follow soon, like our page and share with parents that will benefit from this article.

We are a tuition specialist (11+, KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-Levels). We have qualified Primary and Secondary School teacher providing support. Please get in touch: 07535842727.
