Fall 2027 & Fall 2028 applicants - Still 100% test-
optional. SAT/ACT scores are NOT required.
Fall 2029 applicants - Test scores will be required. No
more choosing whether to submit.

Columbia just made a huge move for future policy majors 👀

Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) - one of the top graduate schools in the world for international relations and public policy - just launched its first-ever undergraduate major: Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP).

Here’s what to know:
📚 Available to Columbia College & Columbia General Studies students once admitted
📅 Foundation courses begin Fall 2026, with major declaration by lottery Dec 2026 - March 2027
🌍 Electives include Geopolitics & Diplomacy, Data Science for Policy, Governance & Development, and more

Important: this isn’t a separate application - you apply to Columbia College or General Studies like normal, then have the option to declare GAPP once you’re enrolled.
