One success story opened the door to another. 🚀New US🇺🇲 student unlocked 🇺🇲

A few days ago, I celebrated one of my students who aced her U.S. state test after weeks of hard work, consistency, and overcoming self-doubt.

My student aced her exam.
Top 9 in California! 🏆

One of my proudest tutor moments recently was seeing one of my students ace her state test exam.

I had been preparing this wonderful Grade 7 student for the California Assessment Test.

Teaching her to not just memorize but understand maths concepts.

She was already very bright, but like many students, she could easily get distracted.
I knew that her challenge wasn’t ability — it was finding the right approach to help her stay focused and bring out her full potential.

She had failed the exam on previous occasions so she had a decline in motivation to study.

I chose not to give up on the process. With consistency, patience, encouragement, and determination, we kept showing up and putting in the work.

Recently, her mum sent me her scores, and I was excited to learn that she ranked in the top 9 in Mathematics. Seeing that result was such a rewarding moment because it reminded me that teaching goes beyond delivering lessons — it’s about understanding each student and helping them believe in themselves.

To my fellow tutors and educators: keep going. Not every breakthrough happens immediately, and not every student learns in the same way. Stay patient, stay intentional, and keep showing up. Sometimes the extra effort, consistency, and belief you invest in a student become the very things that unlock their success.

PRAYER POINTS OF ONLINE TUTORS 😂🙏

May our mics never be muted after delivering the most powerful explanation of our careers… only to hear
“Ma, we can’t hear you.” 😭

May we never confidently say
“Can you all see my screen?”
while sharing a completely different tab. 😭😂

When we have 7 back-to-back classes, may at least one parent say:
“Please can we reschedule today?” 😭🙏

As rain starts falling, may MTN, Airtel, and NEPA remember we are also citizens of Nigeria. 😭

May mysterious hunger not attack us in the middle of class 5 out of 7. 😭

May students stop replying
“Yes ma, I understand”
and then fail the very next question spiritually. 😭

And finally…
May “Your network is unstable” never appear during the exact moment we are explaining the hardest part. 😭😂
