When you think everyone is warning you about a psychopath…. 😭🚲

These can sound surprisingly similar when you hear them quickly:

psychopath /ˈsaɪ.kə.pæθ/ - psicopatico
cycle path /ˈsaɪ.kəl ˌpɑːθ/ - pista ciclabile
footpath /ˈfʊt.pɑːθ/ - percorso pedonale

Context is everything. 😂

One of the most common pronunciation struggles for Italian speakers is avoiding an Italian-style “o” sound in SOME words deceivingly spelt with **OR** .

In words such as *word, work* and *world*, the letters **OR** are pronounced /ɜː/ in standard British English—not with an “o” sound. 👄
