The cutest conker creations this week. At Thursday's club, we made conker people and the children want to make homes for them next week ❀️. During school sessions, we made bugs!

Making the most of the abundance of acorns onsite by making some woodland jewellery! We introduced some of the children to palm drills and conker clamps! Love the results.

Last week we made teeny, tiny bark boats to build on some learning in class. One of the reception groups we work with was reading Jack and The Flumflum Tree by Julia Donaldson. This provided us with a nice opp to recreate the boat in the book and the journey it takes.

After testing whether their boats would float, the kids then made 3D story maps using natural materials found across the site. I loved seeing the children's tiny stick people which represented different characters in the book.

It was fantastic to see the boats used creatively during free play too. So much fun!

Forest puppets made with clay, old sheets, sticks and string were the focus of last week's sessions. They inspired lots of fun games in the woods.

Also thrown in was a lot of climbing, building and creating with logs and rope.

Delicious damper bread cooked on an open fire at Monday's after school club. Lots of patience required because this took a while... Worth it for the results though. 1000 out of 10 apparently... I love how cooking also enhanced play with a few of the children making their own den restaurant to enjoy their damper bread.

(Lots of requests for me to share the recipe with parents/carers so I'll send on email)

I also had to share this brilliant swing invented by one of the children... Engineer/designer in the making I think...

Another relaxing after school club and some new skills learnt.
