Big emotions can be overwhelming - especially when you’re little. When your child is caught in the chaos of a tantrum, it can be tempting to join them in their frustration.
But in tough moments like these, it’s better to take a moment (or two!), regulate your own emotions and show your little one a rational response.
A parent coach (like me!) can help find practical solutions like these and tailor them to you and your child. Find out more 👉 infantsuccess.co.uk

Young children understand an action - like having a snack, or a bath - but have no concept of time.
Repeating daily activities like these at the same point in each day is deeply reassuring for any child, and makes them feel safe and secure. And (as a bonus!), it helps your day run more smoothly.

‘Strict boundaries, enforced with confidence are what enable kids to relax. It is our ambivalence about rules that compels them to ‘explore’ them. Kids are fascinated by anything that unsettles their overlords, so they will keep acting out as long as we keep getting upset. They’re asking a question with this behaviour - am I allowed to do this?’

This one might seem counter-intuitive, but give it a chance!
We often rely on screens to entertain, but it’s important for your child to learn to relieve boredom using the space around them.
This challenges them to explore and discover - something children are extremely good at! - and can result in them finding their own passions.
It might take a few attempts to master, but is worth the time and patience.

Of course, if you have a different challenge, we can create a plan to overcome that too.

Knowing you have someone (like me!) supporting you in your decisions takes the pressure off. A parent coach can offer a sounding board for ideas and help you rebuild confidence in your parenting choices.
