We had our second concert of the term on Saturday, which included the Guitar Ensemble as well as the Recorder Ensemble and several soloists. It was lovely for the parents to have an opportunity to hear the progress the students have made - all that practice really is worth it! One more Saturday of lessons, and then we are all going to have a well-deserved break.

Founded in 1994, The Latymer Saturday Music Centre is an independent Music Centre
Operating as usual
Our students are taking a whole range of exams today and tomorrow, from the beginners taking their Prep Test to one of our more advanced students taking her ARSM in Music Performance. Good luck to everyone, we know you'll be wonderful.
Did you know you can start playing mini-bassoon from the age of 7? We have a fabulous bassoon teacher, and mini-bassoons are available to hire. Do get in touch if you're interested.
We had the first of our Christmas concerts on Saturday, featuring the Wind Ensemble, Junior and Senior String Ensembles, and some soloists. Many of our soloists are preparing for ABRSM exams, and it's an excellent opportunity to perform one of their exam pieces before an appreciative audience - well done to everyone involved.
Congratulations to one of our flute players, who has just won a place in the London Schools Symphony Orchestra. To win her place, she had to undergo an audition playing a solo piece, as well as perform orchestral excerpts on flute, alto flute and piccolo. The first concert includes The Planets by Holst, a challenging piece. Well done, we are so proud of you!
We have six ensembles on a Saturday morning that are free for our students - we really understand the value of playing together!
Put them in a music ensemble.

What a concert!
We had a fantastic afternoon on Saturday at our concert celebrating our 30th Anniversary.
All of the ensembles played, including the debut performance of our bucket ensemble. The children in the Early Ears, Year 1 and Year 2 Music Makers all sang together, and we had some superb soloists. There was a special mention for the pupils that have achieved Grade 8 violin and Grade 8 Music Theory. Looking forward to the next 30 years!
The best thing we can do is put them in music ensembles.
