4H are reading ‘The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane’ by Kate DiCamillo - Once upon a time there was a china rabbit who was loved by a little girl…The children acted out the scene where Pellegrina tells her granddaughter, Abilene, a tale about a very beautiful princess who is turned into a warthog by a witch. Pellegrina stares very hard into the eyes of Edward Tulane when she has finished the story.Well done 4H! https://www.stpauls.hounslow.sch.uk/index.php/news/news-detail/4h-are-reading-the-miraculous-journey-of-edward-tulane

Detectives on the case! - Today in our English groups we discovered a mystery…the strange death of Sir Charles Baskerville! The children entered the room to the ‘crime scene’ and were incredibly excited and engaged, ready to hear the next part of our group text, ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’ and identify important clues. The children are now working alongside Sherlock Holmes, completing their own Detective Journals as we explore the case in the book. The children already have a range of possible explanations, suspects and motives and I was incredibly impressed with the level of enthusiasm in the room. We can't wait to read the next chapter..! https://www.stpauls.hounslow.sch.uk/index.php/news/news-detail/detectives-on-the-casehoo

In 5L, Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM!) - In our first RSHE lesson of the year, 5L discussed the importance of teamwork and how when everyone plays their part and is valued, you can achieve more. After exploring what makes a great team, the children were split into groups to put those skills to the test. They were tasked with stacking cups without using their hands, only 1 elastic band and some pieces of string.I was really impressed not only with their teamwork skills and communication, but also how quickly each team solved the problem. For Round 2 their equipment was limited even further and although only one team was successful, they all still managed to persevere and try their hardest. An important lesson for the year ahead- well done 5L! https://www.stpauls.hounslow.sch.uk/index.php/news/news-detail/in-5l-together-everyone-achieves-more-team

3H enjoy French Day - On Tuesday, Year 3H enjoyed a wonderful day full of French activities. We did some of our research to learn about France and made a quiz for our friends to complete. The highlight was having a story read to us in French by Miss Bourbotte. The children predicted what was happening on the page using some of their french vocabulary to help them. She summarised the story for the children and they were fascinated by listening to a fluent French accent in person. The children created paintings of water lillies in the afternoon in the style of Monet. Well done Year 3H! https://www.stpauls.hounslow.sch.uk/index.php/news/news-detail/3h-enjoy-french-day
