Congratulations to RDSBL’s Professor Kirk Chang and Dr Susan Akinwalere, whose written evidence has been published by the House of Commons Business and Trade Committee as part of its inquiry into Artificial Intelligence, business and the future of the workforce.
Their submission explores how AI is moving from experimental technology into core economic infrastructure, reshaping business, work, skills and productivity across the UK economy. It presents a framework linking technology, adoption, infrastructure, labour market impacts, skills systems and government strategy into one joined-up agenda for responsible AI transition.
Reflecting on the achievement, Dr Susan Akinwalere said:
“I feel deeply honoured to see this work published by Parliament. It is incredibly rewarding to know that research I have contributed to is reaching such an important national institution and can contribute to wider conversations on policy, society and positive change.”
Professor Kirk Chang highlighted the wider significance of the work, noting that when AI is implemented “with ambition and attention to distributional outcomes,” it can become “an engine of broad-based productivity, better work and enhanced public value.”
This is a brilliant achievement for Professor Chang and Dr Akinwalere, and a strong example of RDSBL research contributing to national policy discussion and wider social impact.
