Often children and babies will naturally appear tired at a similar time each night. However if you find yourself being woken for hours on end in the middle of the night, it may be that the amount of daytime sleep is causing this. It can also be caused by their last wake window not being long enough. By adjusting the amount of daytime sleep and when they have this sleep your child can begin to sleep longer stretches in the night.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Delighted to work with such a wonderful family!!

‘I literally couldn’t have asked for more from a sleep trainer. Poppy is so understanding and empathetic, always making sure that both parents are comfortable with the way forward. She is very clear about what will work and explains clearly why. Understanding that all babies (and parents!) are different, so designing a unique plan for you and your family. We never felt pressured to purchase and Poppy was very generous with her advice and time. Worth every penny for good nights !!!!!'

To start sleep training, first look at what you want to change compared to your current schedule. When you know this, choose a technique that is maintainable for you and suitable for your child. How long sleep training takes depends on how consistent you are and the temperament and age of your child. Remember to allow for your own child’s individual needs, as this can vary.

Sleep training is not about not responding to the needs of the child. Instead it is about teaching them to sleep independently when they otherwise have no other needs that need meeting.

If a child is hungry in the night, not feeding them will not benefit sleep training, responding to the needs and then returning to teaching independent sleep will help to succeed.

False starts are common when babies still rely on specific wake windows. When a baby is overtired and falls asleep instantly at bedtime it can lead to them waking abruptly. They then require support to fall asleep again. By bringing baby’s bedtime forward, this can allow more time for them to self settle independently.

Delighted with the success we achieved using sleep training 😊
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I have just finished working with Poppy and it’s safe to say I am over the moon with how things have gone.
My 9month old went from napping once a day and waking up the majority of nights every 2 hours to napping twice a day and sleeping through the night most nights .

Poppy’s approach is gentle and she is extremely informative every step of the way, helping me to understand the why’s and the how’s of sleep training.
We spoke every day through out the process and I found Poppy to be a really great help and source of support .

Working with Poppy was the best decision I’ve ever made and such a worthy investment.
I’m so much happier finally getting some proper sleep and so is my son for being well rested .
I would highly recommend this service to anyone struggling with their babies sleep.

Thank you Poppy for all of your help and support.
You have really made a massive difference to our lives . Hannah

So often I hear that a child goes to sleep really well at night, but then at 1am they are awake for 2 hours or more.

If this resonates with you it could be that your child’s wake window is too short before bedtime, there for not enough sleep need.

Another reason for split nights is that your child has too much consolidated sleep in the day, albeit a long time before their bedtime.

It’s a joy to hear such positive feedback. Often only small changes are needed to achieve great results.

Anxiety at bedtime is common in young children. This can show in delay tactics and struggles falling and staying asleep.

Even when a child is sleep trained it can be tricky when moving around. Offering a graduated level of support over a few nights can stop a baby or child beginning new sleep habits or crutches that intern cause sleep disturbances.
