Year 6 have been exploring creating texture using mixed media. They have experimented with different wet and dry media to recreate the texture of birds.

Year 4 studied the work of Henry Moore. They were then inspired to create their own abstract sculptures.

Well done to Year 3 who performed their assembly to family and friends. They told us how important it is to work together. Teamwork really does make the dream work!

Year 5 have had an exciting set of experiments in the science labs this week. Looking at methods of separation and watching a fantastic example of an irreversible reaction with Magnesium.

After first being inspired by the environmental art of artists such as Andy Goldsworthy, Chris Drury and Marc Pouyet, Year 3 (and the teachers!) had a fantastic time in the beautiful autumn sunshine creating their own examples.

Reception discussed how all families are different and wonderful. We discussed our families, drew pictures of our family members and labelled them. They learned about different Christmas traditions around the world. The children wrote I love you and wrapped it as a gift for their parents.

Early Years had a great day taking part in many activities for Children in Need. We have had many sensory tuff trays, a bear hunt, play dough fun and decorating biscuits.

We will be holding a whole school non-uniform day on Friday to raise money for children in need. There will be a cake competition and bake sale at break time, so get baking!

Have you visited the book fair yet?
Year 4 enjoyed visiting the Book Fair this week. They were excited to see the new releases, such as Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid: No Brainer. They discussed their favourite books and authors and explored some new books that may find their way onto their bookshelves. Year 4 are avid readers - they love immersing themselves in new texts and recommending their favourite reads to their classmates.
