Wowowow, what a year! 🤯🤯🤯

Now that the summer holidays are here, we’re reflecting on what an incredible year we had at our MEI Music Centres!

Here is a bit of a photo dump from some of the incredible end of term performances our students gave, including New Sounds Festival at Milton Court, and the Haringey Music Service & Islington Schools Festival at Haringey Town Hall 🎸 we are endlessly gobsmacked by this talented, lovely bunch of young musicians we get to work with!!

Pop Pioneers 2026 is in full flow and what a blast we’ve had so far. More than 40 young people from across Islington have come together to collaborate and gain industry experience every aspect involved in putting on a large-scale live music event, from composition to performance, production and backstage skills 💪🏼

After three days working at Dalston, today we’re at the iconic Ronnie Scott’s piecing everything together ahead of the final show, ‘Tales from the Sovereign Horses’, which takes place tomorrow at the amazing at 12pm!

A huge shout out to the inspiring industry mentors and educators working closely with our young people this week!!

The New Sounds Festival 2026 is TONIGHT at Milton Court! We are so excited to have our MEI Orchestra take the stage, alongside all the other musicians and bands from across the borough, all coming to share their music with us! Tickets are still live, link in our bio! 🎫 See you there! 🪈🎸💥

Some of our MEI musicians had such a wonderful time at the .sinfonietta ‘Time Entwined’ performance, alongside the@royalcollegeofmusic and musicians from across the North London Music Hub! 🎺🎷🎶🔥

Throwback to our ‘Try an Instrument Day’ event a couple of weeks ago - we had such a wonderful time inviting children from across the borough to learn about some new instruments and have a go at making a sound! 🎷🎺🪈🪘🥁

There was such a joyful atmosphere in the room and was brilliant to see children inspired and excited to start learning new instruments they might not have heard of before, such as bassoon, double bass and euphonium! Thank you to all who came along and keep your eyes peeled for the next one 😊
