🌱 Happy kids, healthy habits! 💚

Healthy habits start from an early age, and the little things we do every day can make a big difference to a child's wellbeing, confidence and development. ✨

From eating colourful fruits and vegetables 🍎🥦 and drinking plenty of water 💧 to getting active, washing little hands, brushing teeth and getting a good night's sleep 💤 - these simple routines help children grow happy, healthy and strong.

The best part? Healthy habits don't have to feel like a chore. Make them fun, make them part of your everyday routine, and let your little ones join in! 🌿

📚 Let's make reading a part of everyday childhood.

You don't need an hour-long reading session or a huge bookshelf to build a reading habit.

Sometimes it's simply 10 minutes before bed, a favourite story after breakfast or getting cosy together on the sofa. 🤍

The most important thing is creating positive associations with books and giving children opportunities to explore stories at their own pace.

And remember: if they ask you to read the same book for the 10th time today... that's actually a pretty good sign. 😂

At Nanny Janes, we believe that learning doesn't have to feel like learning. Sometimes, it starts with a story. 🌿

Your child's vocabulary grows through the little conversations you have every day. 💬🤍

You don't need complicated activities or flashcards—everyday moments like reading a book, talking about what you see, and introducing new words can make a big difference.

Most importantly, keep it fun and give them time to respond. Children learn language through connection, conversation and repetition. 🥰

As parents and caregivers, we all say things in the heat of the moment that we wish we could take back. 🤍

Sometimes, words we hear as "just a phrase" can stay with a child much longer than we realise. Children are still learning who they are, and the language they hear from the adults they trust helps shape their confidence, self-worth and emotional wellbeing.

The good news? Small changes in the way we communicate can make a big difference.

Remember, parenting isn't about being perfect—it's about learning, growing and repairing when needed. We all have moments we'd like to do differently, and that's okay. 💛

At Nanny Janes, we believe that nurturing a child's emotional wellbeing is just as important as supporting their learning and development.

Big feelings can be overwhelming for little people... and that's okay. 💛

Children aren't born knowing how to understand or express their emotions—they learn by watching, talking, and feeling supported by the adults around them.

Whether they're feeling excited, frustrated, nervous or proud, every emotion is an opportunity to help them grow emotionally and build confidence.

Here are a few simple ways you can help your little one understand and manage their feelings at home. 🤍

Remember, it's okay for children to have big emotions. What matters most is knowing they have a safe space to express them.

✨ Which tip do you find most helpful? Let us know in the comments below!

🏡 At Nanny Janes, we believe emotional wellbeing is just as important as learning through play, helping every child feel safe, valued and understood.

Sometimes the biggest learning happens during the smallest moments.

A tower of blocks becomes problem-solving.

A muddy kitchen becomes teamwork.

A story becomes imagination.

At Nanny Janes, play isn't a break from learning—it is the learning.

Every child reaches nursery age differently—and that's perfectly okay.

There isn't one "right" age or one "right" personality.

Some children are adventurous from day one.
Others take a little longer to settle.

What matters most is finding an environment where they feel safe enough to grow at their own pace.

If you're beginning your nursery journey, we're always happy to answer your questions.
