When you have been in power for so many years and still want to go there again, how many industries have you opened? Is this the empowerment you are talking about—the distribution of rice, rappers, and small cash handouts? How does this kind of empowerment sustain people?

How many people have you sponsored and supported consistently, month after month? You only love to be there, to be honoured, while repeatedly using the resources of the country for yourself and your family. And unfortunately, you have a lot of people you give peanuts to, and they keep clapping.

2027 will disappoint you people even more. What you saw in 2023 is only a little compared to what 2027 will bring. People are wiser now.

You only remember empowerment when elections are approaching. Look at the roads—only during election periods do you see them putting some gravel on the roads. After the election, everything stops. With all the money coming into the state, this is what we are seeing: empowerment through small cash handouts. How does that sustain people?

There are no permanent industries where people can get stable employment and raise their families with a decent standard of living. Hospitals are in terrible condition. Roads are bad. There is no reliable electricity. Insecurity is everywhere. Where are we going to start from?

The only hope is to vote this government out, from the national level to the state level, and start afresh. That is the only hope.

So, if you are hoping that the 2027 election will be written in your favour in your room, 2027 will disappoint you. We are going to vote, and we are going to defend our votes.

If you are in INEC, whether you are a corps member or a returning officer, have it at the back of your mind: the coming election must be about Nigeria versus those standing in the way of the country’s progress.

If you want to put your life into the process, go ahead. But the election must be held. Votes must be counted. The process must be monitored. And the results must be properly announced.

Nigeria deserves better.NDC is the only hope!

Apc never believed their eyes—to see such a strong and formidable opposition in 2027, even stronger than the one they faced in 2023.
