Nant-y-Cwm Steiner School

Nant-y-Cwm Steiner School A safe, pressure-free, nature-rich education that develops the head, heart and hands.

A warm welcome back to all our pupils and families as a new school year begins at Nant-y-Cwm.

There is something special about the first days of term, and on Monday we celebrated our new and returning pupils with a special outdoor assembly.

Our teachers spoke about what they can expect from the year ahead, with the children excited to hear what they will be learning, before we welcomed our newest members of the school in a special wildflower ceremony, where they were paired with their new β€˜buddies’ from our senior class.

Then both pupils, teachers and parents formed a guard of honour, leading all the children into the school to officially start the school year.

For some, this is the continuation of a well-known journey.

For our newest children and families, it is the beginning of something entirely new and exciting, and we feel this is a special way of honouring that transition into their new environment.

We look forward to a year filled with creativity, discovery, friendship and growth.

A day at Eisteddfod y Garreg Las πŸ’š

From music, clog dancing and art to familiar faces appearing all across the Maes, it was wonderful for our children to see just how woven our school community is into the language, culture and landscape around us.

And, right at the end of the day, we finally found our Nant-y-Cwm bench!

Diolch, Eisteddfod! 🏡️

What happens after Steiner Kindergarten?

Children move into Main School with strong foundations in confidence, imagination, relationships, movement and communication.

Formal learning is then introduced in a developmentally appropriate way, using stories, creativity, practical experience and meaningful connections between subjects.

Kindergarten is not separate from the educational journey.

It prepares children to enter their next stage with curiosity, enthusiasm and a secure sense of themselves.

Families can learn more about the journey through Nant-y-Cwm at our upcoming Kindergarten and school Open Mornings

More details will be released soon, and we would love to see you there...

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Forest School Stay & Play.

It was a pleasure to welcome new families into the woodland, share conversations and introduce more people to Nant-y-Cwm.

We hope the morning offered a glimpse of the warm, creative and nurturing experience at the heart of our Kindergarten.

For families who would like to explore further, our next Kindergarten Open Morning will be coming soon.

This will provide another opportunity to meet the team, see the Kindergarten and discuss whether Nant-y-Cwm could be the right place for your child.

Further details will be shared soon.
