Fireworks 🎆

Exploring all the different types of fireworks and how we could make them!

We started with some paintings using glitter and toilet rolls to make different firework shapes

We then tried using chalks to draw fireworks while watching them dance on the big screen and the iPads. We loved seeing the chalk smudge on the paper!

We even explored creating fireworks in forest school with some powder painting, watching the colours change and move as we painted the trees and leaves! We even explored some colour mixing noticing that colours change when we add them, like yellow and blue makes green!

Harvest pizzas

We’ve been finding out what harvest means and we decided we would like to do some cooking to celebrate all the hard work that goes into growing our food!

We went to one of our grandparents house to pick some tomatoes that they had grown, chopped them up and turned them into pizza sauce. Then we made some pizza bases and we all made our own pizzas to cook and eat! Some of us even tried some new toppings like sweetcorn too!

Conker soap 🧼

Last week in forest school we foraged for some conkers from one of our parents gardens, we then bashed the conkers to open them up. We boiled them up with some lemon oil to make it smell yummy, strained it and magic… we made soap!

The children loved watching each step of this process and being involved throughout watching the conkers start from prickly circles to a soft mush once they were boiled !
