The Children have had a lovely visit from the Mayor of Llangefni Town Council this morning (Non Parry) She came in and showed the children her chain's, did some colouring with the children and joined in with their singing session before lunch.

Non has also been very kind and donated high vis vests for the staff to wear when we take the children out on walks.

Did you know that a 3-year old (top left image) and a 6-year old (top right image) have significantly different skeletal structure in their hands?! Notice the bones in the wrist of the 3-year old -- many of them are still mostly cartilage! Look at all the spaces in between the bones where muscles and tendons will change through the years. Even the difference between a 6-year old and a 14-year old (lower right) is huge!

Preschoolers have SO much development to do before they can write the way school-aged children or adults can!

Please do NOT stress if your preschooler does not want to write or draw. Some love it and some don't.

While they are growing, strengthen those little bones and muscles! Here are some great pre-writing, muscle-strengthening activities:

* painting, drawing, coloring
* playdough
* tearing and cutting
* gluing
* poking holes in things (try toothpicks and paper!)
* digging in dirt
* building with LEGOS, marble runs, or other blocks
* beading (try beads, cut straws, or even bobbins!)
* puzzles
* squeezing (try stress balls, squeezing water in a sponge, or using a pipette)
* picking up and throwing balls (use different sizes!)
* playing with toys (watch what their little fingers do when they pick up and move little cars, marbles, action figures, etc!)

These all strengthen and help develop little hands, muscles, and bones. When they are physically ready to write, it will be so much easier than if they were pushed when they didn't want to and weren't ready!

The past few days the children have been celebrating St David's Day with various activities and they have been on a lovely walk to watch the St David's day parade in town today 🏈

Dros y diwrnoda dwytha ma, mae'r plant wedi bod yn dathlu Dydd Gwyl Dewi gyda gweithgareddau gwahanol yn cynnwys mynd am dro i'r stryd i weld y dathluiadau 🏈

What an exciting afternoon we had yesterday at Ser Bach when all the children were surprised with a visit from the police! they were all given the privilege to sit in the car with the lights flashing, tried on the police helmet and best of all, got to hear the siren! We'd like to thank them for giving the children such a wonderful experience!

The last few weeks the children have been very busy celebrating Chinese new year and Santes Dwynwen. They have enjoyed making pizza's, cutting up their own veg to make soup, going on lots of walks with their friend's and doing lots of different craft activities 🥦🥕🍕🥔

The children have all enjoyed Christmas activities throughout December. They have been busy making biscuits, decorating cards, posting letters to Santa, having their pictures taken in our photo shoot and much more fun activities. The building is looking very sparkly after all the glitter. 🎅🎄

We would just like to say a big thankyou to Huws Gray Llangefni for helping us with grit for the ramp this morning, we really appreciate it ⭐️🤍

This year we have decided to give our special Christmas hamper to the ambulance service for all their hard work! Big thankyou to Lowri who has kindly accepted the hamper and will take it to her depo this weekend. Another big thankyou to all the staff for contributing towards such a special gift, we all hope you enjoy your treats and have a lovely Christmas!! 🎁🎅🏼🎄⭐️

We have managed to raise £1446.35 for children in need!! Thankyou so much for all your donations!! 👏🏻⭐️

All the children in the nursery have enjoyed joining in with different activities this week to raise money for children in need. The children in the Preschool room have been developing their independence skills by choosing their own breakfast each morning which they have been enjoying and doing really well at. Next week they will be developing and focusing on their knife and fork skills 🍴🥣

To our parents who do not yet use tax Free Childcare. This is a scheme for working parents through HMRC. You can save a fifth on your childcare costs up to £2,000 per year. Parents need to be earning more than £12,000 and less than £100,000.

It is free to apply so it is worth taking a look, search Tax Free Childcare HMRC and spend a few minutes to save some money.

The children in the Nursery have been very busy this month doing lots of fun activities and they have been in the garden this week making the most of the lovely weather ☀️

Mae plant y Meithrinfa wedi bod yn brysur iawn mis yma yn gwneud llawer o weithgareddau hwyliog ac maent wedi bod yn yr ardd wythnos yma yn gwneud y mwyaf o’r tywydd braf ☀️

The staff and children will be taking part in a walk-a-thon starting in March, we are hoping to complete 2500 miles in the next 2 months. We are going to try and aim for 1 walk a day weather permitting☀️

All donations received before the end of June will be matched £1 for £1 by Natwest Bank and all the donations will go towards disasters and emergencies committee for the refuges in Ukraine to show our support 💙 💛

Friday 18th March 2022- Red Nose Day ❤️

The children are welcome to come in dressed in red and we will be carrying out different activities during the day :)
