We've been having the absolute best time these past 4 months with our gorgeous boy, Rex. He is an absolute dream and we're so in love.

Very excited to be officially launching Midwife and Mentor here in Perth! 🙌🇦🇺

And about time too... it's taken me a bit longer than expected to get going again after moving here in late 2023 from the UK, but that's ok - I've been hard at work behind the scenes to make sure it's close to perfect for you all (because we all know what a bloomin perfectionist I am 🙈).

Since moving to Perth I have been working at a Tertiary hospital as a Midwife, learning the way midwifery works over here in comparison to the UK (where I'd worked as a midwife since 2014) - and surprisingly, more or less it's the same, baby's are still born the exact same way and emergencies and midwifery care is managed pretty much the same, who would of thought that good midwifery care is pretty much universal 🤷😂

Since working in Australia as a Midwife I have pursued numerous opportunities to enhance my knowledge and skills even further. From postgraduate study at university to become an Endorsed Midwife gaining a postgraduate certificate in 'Midwifery Diagnostics and Prescribing', to performing quality improvement projects at my place of work on the subject of waterbirth, to working as a shift coordinator, senior midwife on antenatal and postnatal wards and on maternal fetal assessment units in the hospital setting.

I am very pleased with my accomplishments and efforts since arriving here in Perth, it has most certainly been very full on, but I'm excited about how all of this will only benefit Midwife and Mentor and the services that I offer 💯💃

As you may have noticed, I have had to change the business name from 'A Midwifes Touch' to 'Midwife and Mentor' due to the name already being in use in Australia, so apologies for any confusion there 🙈

SO FINALLY HERE WE GO...

I am offering just ONE full in-person, group, antenatal and hypnobirthing education course before I bu**er off on my own maternity leave later this year (courses will be resuming after this In July 2026)

Hi Everyone 👋

So sorry I've been so quiet on here over the past few months, as I'm sure most of you are already aware Sam (husband) & I moved to Australia at the end of November 2023 & It's been an absolute rollercoaster of emotions and a busy and overwhelming time as I'm sure you can imagine (hence why I've been so quiet recently).

From saying our goodbyes to family, friends and of course my beautiful North Wales AMT family at home, it's been heartbreaking, tiring & upsetting whilst at the same time, feelings of excitement and optimism about the new opportunities and adventures that we are hoping to have here in Oz during this next chapter of our lives.

So far (apart from missing everyone at home obviously) we are having an amazing time and are loving the weather and lifestyle that Perth has to offer.

Now, I have to tell you all about this because IT WAS BLOOMING AMAZING. I would say 'It's very me' & aligns a lot with AMT's Values 🥰🙌

Soooo... It is a movement/community that supports women to feel more confident, comfortable and empowered in their own skin, promoting and teaching Body Positivity and acceptance. This particular event they called 'Sea Gals and Pals' so you could bring the men in your life along ❤

They support, empower & encourage women to come to their events as they are, as themselves whether that's with: makeup/ no makeup/swimming costume/bikini/ t-shirt & shorts etc. They create a none judgemental, safe space where women support women, it was a truly healing & liberating exp.

As well as this, they also create opportunities for women to connect (my favourite bit, as I'm sure all my AMT members will know, is of course an Icebreaker game 🙈🤣)... They ask everyone to sit in small group circle with the people/strangers that are sat near to them on the beach and then go round the circle introducing yourself and stating 'One thing that you're proud of yourself for doing now, that you would never have done in the past?' (AMT members, you can imagine my excitement!? 🤣💃)

Thank you to my wonderful North Wales AMT family for a wonderful evening, I'm going to miss you all so much!

I feel so proud and privileged to have been able to create such an inclusive, positive & supportive community with you all over the past year and a half, it really has been so incredibly special & I feel so blessed 💕

I have honestly and genuinely loved getting to know each & every one of my AMT members and have created memories with you all that I will treasure forever! What a blast we've had!! 🥳

Lots of love and big virtual hugs to the rest of our AMT family that couldn't make it tonight, please keep in touch! ❤️
