I've had these little canvasses knocking around for a few months waiting for the perfect time. That was today. This little landscape filled a space today.

Here a piece I threw on the table. It's not the best angle but I'm working on that for the next one. No thought or direction. I always start with pencil. At least then I have a guide. But going straight in with the brush gives me so much confidence. You can't rub it out so you may as well crack on. It's like when youre in primary and your teacher gives you your pen licence. Is it perfect? Pfft but what is perfect? I put so much emphasis on faces looking like faces when I'm drawing them or getting each aspect exact that it loses all the joy for me and I end up rubbing it out 20 times and then going off the boil. Did Picasso's faces look like anyone you know? Expressionism, interpretation and abstract is where it's at.
