We’re on a mission to make our outdoor learning areas even more exciting, creative and inspiring! 🌈✨

Following our Estyn inspection, we’re developing our Foundation Learning areas to give our children even more opportunities to explore, investigate, build, create, problem-solve and learn through hands-on experiences. 💦🪵🌱🔍

And we’d love your help! ❤️

Before you take something to the tip or put it in the recycling… could it have a new life at school? ♻️

We’d be really grateful for any spare, unwanted, unused or upcycled items in good, safe, usable condition.

Old crates? 🪵 Construction challenge.
Magnifying glass? 🔍 Mini-beast investigation.
Pinecones and sticks? 🌿 Nature exploration.

We’re especially keen to reuse and upcycle, giving everyday objects a new purpose while helping our children develop their creativity, independence, curiosity and problem-solving skills. 🌍

📦 Donations or long-term loans are very welcome.

Please only donate items that are clean, safe, intact and suitable for children. They don’t need to be new or perfect — well-loved is absolutely fine! We’re simply looking for things that still have plenty of life left in them.

Items can be sent in with your child or dropped off at the main entrance in the morning or at home time. 😊

Every single donation, no matter how small, can help us create something really special for our children. ❤️

🏫 A polite reminder that all pupils start back Thursday September 3rd, as September 1st and 2nd are INSET days for staff.

🕰️ Looking forward to seeing everyone bright and early next Thursday! Breakfast Club open 8.10am-8.40am, as usual.

As we come to the end of another school year, I find myself thinking about just how much has happened over the past twelve months — and how incredibly proud I am of our school community. 💙

Our children have worked hard, challenged themselves, supported one another and, most importantly, filled our school with laughter, energy and so many wonderful memories. Watching them grow in confidence and develop as individuals is one of the greatest privileges of being a headteacher.

To our wonderful pupils — thank you for making Ffordd Dyffryn such a special place. You make us smile every day, and I am incredibly proud of every single one of you. 💙

To our parents and carers — thank you for your continued support, kindness and trust. Your support makes such a difference, and I genuinely appreciate everything you do for our children and our school.

To our amazing staff — I simply cannot thank you enough. The care, commitment and dedication you show our children every single day is truly special. So much of what you do happens quietly, behind the scenes, but it makes an enormous difference to the lives of our pupils. I am incredibly proud to work alongside you.

A huge thank you also to our governors, Friends of Ffordd Dyffryn and everyone in our wider community who supports our school. We are incredibly lucky to have such wonderful people around us.

And to our Year 6 children — what a journey you have been on. It has been a real privilege to watch you grow into the young people you are today. We are incredibly proud of you and will miss you more than you know. Wherever life takes you next, remember that you will always be part of the Ffordd Dyffryn family. 💙

As we close the doors for the summer, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who makes our school the special place it is.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer break — enjoy the sunshine, spend time with the people you love, make memories, have fun and, most importantly, get plenty of rest!

Thank you for another fantastic year. I am already looking forward to seeing everyone again in September.

What a fantastic afternoon we had yesterday ☀️🎉

A huge thank you to our amazing Friends of Ffordd Dyffryn, our wonderful staff, and everyone in our school community who helped make this year’s Summer Fayre such an enjoyable event.

Whether you volunteered your time, donated prizes, ran a stall, baked cakes, helped set up or tidy away, or simply came along to support us, every contribution made a real difference. It was lovely to see so many families enjoying themselves and making wonderful memories together.

We’re so lucky to have such a supportive and caring school community. Thank you for everything you do for our children and for helping make days like this so special.
