We have always prided ourselves on the fact that as a department, we are all qualified teachers in addition to the myriad of high level outdoor leadership and coaching qualifications which enable us to access a huge range of outdoor environments. As a recent addition to this, we are please to announce that Aled was recently awarded Leading Practitioner of the Institute for Outdoor Learning - awarded to individuals going above and beyond their day to day teaching in order to contribute to the wider outdoor education sector.

House sailing results - Snowdon take the win, Cader second and Tryfan third. Just 2 points separating 1st and 2nd and only 1 point separating 2nd and 3rd going into the last event of the Outdoor Education House Cup, IronLion on 1st July.

It’s been a pleasure to have been able to share adventures with these pupils over the last two years, as they worked towards their Level 3 Learning in the Outdoors qualification. Not only have they become independent adventurers, but they have also become adept in the academic aspects of outdoor learning - the theory underpinning the practical. Good luck to you all on your adventures beyond St. David’s!

The Year 10 canoe and sea kayak groups (along with two special guests from Y11 finishing off their Silver D of E) completed their practice expeditions over the weekend, in preparation for their main expeditions after half term. Great food, wild camping and possibly the best cricket pitch in the world

Can this weather stick around for a bit please!? A grand day for some sea cliff climbing as our Year 13 pupils continue to work towards their Mountain Training Rock Skills course, while just round the corner the Year 12 pupils were trying their hand at surf kayaking. Mega day!
