Dear parents and carers,
We have tried to reopen After-School club at Llandovery College Nursery School, however in accordance with current guidelines we are still unable to do this at present.
In order to have an After-School club at a nursery setting, a separate area is needed for these children attending outside of the nursery and a separate member of staff is needed for the care of these children, who is not at any time associating with the children attending the nursery.
Children from different schools are not to attend the same After-School setting unless there are equal separate areas to house them both as well as staff. In line with current regulations, the schools in which the After-School club children are attending in the day need to be informed of the children wanting to attend club at another setting, and the nursery has to comply with the safety bubbles in place at each school setting in order to assist in these safety measures being correctly followed.
After contacting the schools involved in After-school club at Llandovery College Nursery School, both settings informed us that children are in class size bubbles at present and so we would have to continue to keep them in these bubbles in club which would mean even more staff and separate spaces needed which we are unable to accommodate for at the moment.
We are continuing to work alongside the schools involved and have been told that we will be informed of any change to their safety bubble sizes at their settings, so we will then be able to review and plan to see if we are then in a position to reopen After-School club at Llandovery College Nursery School.
Thank you for your support and understanding during this difficult time and we hope to have club reopened in the very near future.
Many thanks,
Llandovery College Nursery School
