๐๐ United Space School 2026 โ Wythnos Dau ๐๐
Yn ail wythnos, cynyddodd y pwysau wrth i Mari, Ioan a'u cyd-fyfyrwyr weithio tuag at gwblhau eu prosiect cenhadaeth i'r blaned Mawrth.
Treuliwyd llawer o'r wythnos yn gweithio'n ddwys mewn ystafelloedd trafod ym Mhrifysgol HoustonโClear Lake. Er mwyn ail-greu heriau cydlynu cenhadaeth ofod cymhleth, dim ond drwy WhatsApp ac e-bost yr oedd timau'n cael cyfathrebu รข'i gilydd. Yn ogystal รข'u gwaith prosiect, cafodd y myfyrwyr gyfle i wrando ar gyflwyniadau gan Axiom Space a chyflwyniad hynod ddiddorol gan Erik Hougland ar iechyd dynol yn y gofod. Cafwyd amser hefyd i ymlacio mewn parti pwll nofio.
Un o heriau mwyaf yr wythnos oedd Adolygiad y Tiger Team, lle cyflwynodd y timau eu cynnydd i banel o aelodau Bwrdd USS a derbyn adborth beirniadol iawn! Yna defnyddiodd y myfyrwyr yr adborth hwn i fireinio eu syniadau a chryfhau eu prosiectau cyn y cyflwyniadau terfynol. Ar รดl diwrnod dwys, mwynhaodd pawb noson ffilm yn gwylio First Man.
Neilltuwyd gweddill yr wythnos i gwblhau'r prosiectau, ymarfer a pharatoi cyflwyniadau. Ar รดl bron i bythefnos o ymchwilio, datrys problemau a chydweithio, cyflwynodd y myfyrwyr eu gwaith cyn dod รข'r holl elfennau ynghyd ar gyfer cyflwyniad terfynol y genhadaeth i'r blaned Mawrth i Fwrdd Ysgol Ofod Unedig a'r teuluoedd lletyol. Dathlwyd diwedd y rhaglen academaidd gyda noson mewn gรชm bรชl fas yng nghanol dinas Houston.
Daeth y profiad i ben gyda seremoni raddio a gwledd Ysgol Ofod Unedig, ac yna parti karaoke a chyfle olaf i ddathlu gyda ffrindiau o bob cwr o'r byd.
Yn rhy fuan, daeth hi'n amser ffarwelio รข Houston, y teuluoedd lletyol, y mentoriaid a'r ffrindiau newydd. Dros y pythefnos, mae Mari ac Ioan wedi gweithio ochr yn ochr รข myfyrwyr o bob rhan o'r byd, wedi mynd i'r afael รข phroblemau cymhleth ac wedi cyflwyno eu syniadau i arbenigwyr. Maent wedi manteisio ar bob cyfle ac wedi cynrychioli Ysgol Bro Dinefwr a Chymru gyda brwdfrydedd a balchder mawr. Rydym yn hynod falch o bopeth y maent wedi'i gyflawni ac yn gobeithio y bydd y cyfeillgarwch, y profiadau a'r atgofion a grรซwyd yn Houston yn aros gyda nhw am flynyddoedd lawer i ddod.
๐๐ United Space School 2026 โ Week Two ๐๐
The second week of United Space School 2026 saw the pace increase as Mari, Ioan and their fellow students worked towards completing their Mars mission project.
Much of the week was spent working intensively in breakout rooms at the University of HoustonโClear Lake. To recreate the challenges of coordinating a complex space mission, teams were only allowed to communicate with one another via WhatsApp and email. Alongside their project work, students heard from Axiom Space and attended a fascinating presentation from Erik Hougland on human health in space. There was also time to relax with a pool party.
One of the biggest challenges of the week was the Tiger Team Review, where teams presented their progress to a panel of USS Board members and received some very critical feedback! Students then used this feedback to refine their ideas and strengthen their projects ahead of the final presentations. After an intense day, everyone enjoyed a movie night watching First Man.
The remainder of the week was dedicated to completing projects, rehearsing and preparing presentations. After almost two weeks of research, problem-solving and collaboration, students presented their work before bringing all the elements together for the final Mars mission presentation to the United Space School Board and host families. The end of the academic programme was celebrated with an evening at a baseball game in downtown Houston.
The experience concluded with the United Space School graduation ceremony and banquet, followed by a karaoke after-party and a final opportunity to celebrate with friends from around the world.
All too quickly, it was time to say goodbye to Houston, host families, mentors and new friends. Over the two weeks, Mari and Ioan have worked alongside students from across the world, tackled complex problems and presented their ideas to experts. They have embraced every opportunity and represented Ysgol Bro Dinefwr and Wales with great enthusiasm and pride. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and hope the friendships, experiences and memories made in Houston will stay with them for many years to come.
