This six of twelve day course will be suitable for all levels from the beginner to the more experienced. The course will be based on individual needs and interests, as there will be plenty of individual tuition in painting and drawing. The course will be limited to no more than six students. John has been painting on location in Crete for ten years so will be able to pass on is knowledge and obser
vations.There will be two excursions one to the visit the Venetian city of Chania where we will see the port, cathedral and museums where there will an opportunity to do some sketching. There will also be a trip to Rethymnon to visit the national gallery of Greece showing contemporary Greek art and the Turkish fort as well as the surrounding countryside. There will be informal seminars in the evenings to have the opportunity to look at how contemporary and past artists have painted in the Mediterranean and been influenced by the light. We will also review the day’s work. Working space outdoors in the large garden and two terraces, in the ancient village or in the surrounding countryside. Danuta Hedley will also take a session on perspective and drawing houses. Danuta as well as practicing artist is also a renowned architectural illustrator will be teaching groups perspective and how to draw the local buildings
