Llanddulas Shukokai Karate Club Llanddulas SKC are a traditional Japanese Karate Club . The style we study is Yamada Ha Sh*to Ryu Shukokai Karate.

It was a great pleasure to finally give Mark his 2nd Dan belt with the Association Kanji along with Marks name in Kanji too.

Mark has been a great support to the club and myself over the past few years.

Taking the 1st Dan Grade and passing is a great achievement and, quite rightly, one people never forget.

Personally, I find it a far greater achievement passing a 2nd Dan.

It shows you have true commitment to Karate, self improvement, mental as well as physical stamina too ! We never stop learning from other Dan grades and also lower grades, theee is something to be learnt from everyone if you are prepared to listen and practice.

This is why I don’t give 1st Dans a Kanji’d belt, most either quit or fade away for various reasons .. fitness, life in general, work, injuries etc
So to dig in and learn even more, whilst still the same stuff too, takes a certain kind of person.

Well Done Mark and the belt is long overdue 👍

It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of Denis Casey Sensei, 9th Dan Hanshi, who left us on 9th February 2026.

Denis Sensei was a cornerstone of our karate family, a leader who dedicated his life to the art of Karate-do. His wisdom, integrity, and passion shaped countless students and instructors over the decades. He was not only a master of technique but also of character, leaving an indelible mark on our entire association.

Our deepest sympathies go to his family and all who knew him. We will honor his memory by continuing his legacy and upholding the values he lived by.

We will share details of future commemorations soon. Until then, we reflect with gratitude on the gift of having walked alongside him.

Rest in peace, Sensei.

A huge well done to Alfie and Chirag on entering the Welsh Open Karate Championships held in Abergele on Sunday
Alfie came away with 2 silvers .. Kumite and Kata
Chirag came away with a bronze in Kumite

Special thank you to Sensei Mark on helping Judge throughout the day .. never an easy task

Also, our two white belts, Macy and Izzie who both spent the whole day as table officials making sure their area ran smoothly. Macy had also helped set up the hall, msts, computers, spectators chairs on Saturday evening.

Well done to you all 👏👏

On Sunday the 27th July 2025x Llanddulas Karate Club participated in the YSSWUK National Championships in Kata and Kumite (Fighting)
We are only a small club who had five of our students enter.. all them managed a podium finish in some of the categories they entered

In Total our 5 students won
1 Gold
5 Silver
5 Bronze

Well done also to Mark, on his venture into officiating at a comp. Without officials there would be no comps!

An excellent achievement and good standard throughout.
