After 12 outstanding House Captain interviews this week, we are delighted to introduce our 2026/27 House Captains at Inveralmond Community High School! 🎉💙

A huge congratulations to our six House Captains across Skye, Arran and Tiree. We are incredibly proud of each of you and look forward to seeing the positive impact you will make in your roles over the coming year.

A special thank you to all of our applicants. Staff were highly impressed by the quality of every interview, and with 12 exceptional candidates, it was a very difficult decision. You should all be proud of your achievements, commitment and leadership throughout the process.

This week ICHS staff had the privilege of interviewing 12 S6 pupils who put themselves forward for the role of School Captain. Pupils submitted a video application, undertook a formal interview, and require staff endorsement for the role.

All of the candidates demonstrated outstanding interview skills and passion for their school, and deserve recognition for their achievements at interview, regardless of who secures the positions.

A few staff members from Inveralmond Community High School will be taking part in an Inflatable 5K next month.

We’re hoping to raise funds for an amazing charity in our community, Neil’s Hugs Foundation, who provide support, understanding and awareness for families, friends and individuals affected by su***de and poor mental health. 💜

We know times are tough, but if you can spare anything, no donation is too small. Every contribution will make a difference.

We are very proud of all our hard-working young people who received their QS results today 👏👏👏🤩🤩🤩

Another record exam year for West Lothian pupils 🎉 🎓 📚 🥇

Pupils in West Lothian schools received their Qualification Scotland awards today, Tuesday 4 August.

Pupil, supported by teaching staff, worked hard to achieve their results and there has been continued improvement in the key indicators on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

Students in S4 achieving five or more level 5 qualifications has increased across West Lothian.

Pupils in S5 achieving three or more Level 6 qualifications, which includes Highers, has also increased. Both the number of S5 and S6 pupils achieving five or more Level 6 qualifications, such as Highers, saw rises.

Winchburgh Academy presented their first cohort of pupils for national qualifications, taking West Lothian up to 12 presenting schools this year. Sinclair Academy have their first S4 cohort starting in the upcoming academic session.

Pupils across the local authority had the opportunity to undertake a wide range of courses either in their own schools or in conjunction with partners through the West Lothian Campus and at West Lothian College. As well as National Qualifications, pupils have achieved National Progression Awards, HNCs, Skills for Work courses and Foundation Apprenticeships among others.

Executive councillor for education, Andrew McGuire said: "Congratulations to all young people in West Lothian who have received their exam results today. The results from across the county reflect the commitment and hard work of pupils and are also a tribute to the immense support and professionalism of teachers and support staff across our schools.
Results day can also bring uncertainty. If you have any questions or any doubts after receiving your results then please contact your school and staff will be able to guide you.”

West Lothian Council Head of Secondary Education Siobhan McGarty added: "Once our young people have their results, they may need some advice and support about their next steps with their curriculum and career pathways. Support is available to them through their schools and organisations such as Skills Development Scotland/ Careers Advisors who are all available to help and based in school. Congratulations to all our young people and I wish them well as they move forward into their next year.”

🏆 Team Tiree are House Champions! 🏆

What a finish to the year!

Yesterday, Team Tiree were crowned overall winners, collecting the most house points for living our values of kindness, honesty, respect and aspiration every day.

To celebrate, they headed to Innoflate for a well-earned day of fun, energy and bouncing madness! 🎉

A massive congratulations to everyone in Team Tiree. You earned it, you deserved it, and you finished the year in style.
