Hi,

We would like to give you our latest updates via our latest Suzie's Snippets : https://youtu.be/TOOMO3t6s6k

The Senior Phase assessment calendar showing all assessments taking place for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher throughout April and May can be accessed using the link below. Some Advanced Higher assessment are yet to be confirmed. Your class teachers will communicate the times of these directly.
We have also put together a short help video so that you can easily use the assessment calendar to identify when you will be sitting your assessments. We recommend that you take the time to add these to the calendar in your phone or write these down. This will help you create a study plan to ensure you are fully prepared for these important assessments.

Parent council update:

I am delighted to announce we have a new treasurer and chairperson for our Parent Council.

This year hasn’t been an easy one, meetings moved online and although we had our AGM recently, Lesley Lewis remained as treasurer/Secretary even after her daughter left school, just to fill the void and help us out. A huge thank you to Lesley who worked her socks off at our last spring fayre and helped generate an active working bank account. We now have a template guide for future events and a stable bank balance.

Sadly, I too must step down as chair after the Livingston South by-election where I was elected as Councillor. I have had a wonderful experience as vice chair and chair and meet some incredible parents and staff over the years. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their support, especially over this last year.

Please can you welcome Inveralmond Community High School Parent Councils new:-

Chair- Jane Naysmith
Treasurer - Nicola Walker

Thank you for your support,
Maria MacAulay

Hi,

As we prepare to welcome more young people back into the school building from next week Mrs. Young would like to provide you an update via her weekly Suzie’s Snippets which you can find here: https://youtu.be/pEHEycEHHwE

The Sway that is referred to in the video can also be found here, we would appreciate it if you could spend some time looking over this: https://sway.office.com/opshp3ID5MJVKJQv?ref=Link

The SQA update about the Senior Phase qualifications can be found here, if you have any questions then don’t hesitate to get in touch with the school : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MU7Pg6692hzogye1pQQoFxqpceNZx872/view?usp=sharing

This week's headteachers challenge set our young people a challenge to give up some time this week to communicate with somebody to make their day. This could be by sending a kindness postcard, letter, e-mail or card. This challenge also helps us to think about our social awareness skills as part of our Achieve, Connect, Thrive skills framework at ICHS, you can find examples of pupil work in the attached Sway: https://sway.office.com/XP1CR90FTzekoNdD?ref=Link

For World Book Day as part of their challenge students were asked to write a short story prompted by one of nine photographs. The story had to be EXACTLY six words, OR up to fifty words OR up to 250 words. The examples below are just a few of the many imaginative stories that were submitted: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MT_D4yBPJuLM15ksqtOcvemEs1euX2q4/view?usp=sharing

We hope you have a nice weekend and look forward to seeing the young people next week
