Member of the Musicans' Union - Public Liability Insurance
Guitar Tutor - Youth Social Worker "If you're looking for a top drawer guitar tutor, I would definitely recommend Pete as your first choice. I find Pete easy to communicate with and am impressed with the effort he puts in outside of lesson time to develop lessons that interest and challenge me. He is able to listen to a piece of music, tra

nslate it and simplify it (if required) which is all very encouraging when you're starting out." Mike

''We very much enjoyed the lessons and found that Pete's method of teaching gave us a lot more confidence to try new styles, he also did not keep us going to lessons when he felt we had improved, all in all a highly recommended teacher!''
Stevie & Iain

"I took lessons with Pete at the beginning of 2010 as a complete beginner on the guitar. I received a solid grounding that I wouldn't have obtained from other sources. Pete has a genuine love of music and is passionate about what he does and this easily comes through during his lessons. I'm glad I chose to take lessons with Pete and feel I have really progressed on the guitar following my time with him. I would have no hesitations in recommending lessons with Pete and throughly enjoyed my time with him learning the guitar." Rob

We are all loving being back in Ireland. It's a whole different way of life. Anyone trying to contact "fifth scene" can't as FB have requested ID verification and I'm not bothered. I may set up another a/c soon, but to be honest, I find being off it a relief. However, for those of you who have liked this page and wish to stay in touch, please message me here and I will send you on my email/contact details :)

Right well, that's it for the here and now folks. My wee tribe and I are away to Ireland in the morning. It's been an absolutely fantastic experience tutoring guitar here in West Lothian for the past seven years and to everyone who attended or had someone attend group or one to one lessons with me, I thank you kindly. It's been an amazing journey and an absolute privilege to have had this opportunity. I hope you enjoyed my short guide tour into the musical hall of mirrors and white noise. I wish you all the very best for the future and stay tuned, keep playing and grow with music. Stay in touch. Love and peace to you all. Pete.

Twas a special night indeed-here's Paul and I shaking it up a little :)

For years to come the question will be asked ‘were you there?’ but only a lucky few will be able to answer ‘yes, I was there’. And they’ll be talking about the inaugural Bridgehouse Acoustic Night of course! What an evening that was. What a night. What talent!

Pete got things off to a great start with a mix of own material and classic blues numbers including the unforgettable BB King’s ‘The Thrill Has Gone’. After a short break Paul took over and wooed the audience with an eclectic mix of modern, blues and folk ranging from Tom Waits to Harry Nilsson, eventually bringing the house down with his (now classic) ‘Red Telephone Box Blues’. All too soon the formal part of the evening was brought to a close with Pete joining Paul in a foot stomping, crowd singing, candle waving medley of classics including Proud Mary, Johnny B. Goode and Come Together.

But the night was still young and the floor was open and who’d have thought that Bridgehouse had so much talent?! Unbelievable! With Paul acting as compere, Lachlan set the ball rolling with an excellent 500 miles (NOT the Proclaimers), then there was Jackie, Perfect – what a voice, and Mathew’s instrumental version of Blackbird – what a guitarist, what a talent at such a young age! And then his dad Andy – brilliant! No stopping things now, up stepped Alan with Sloop John B and much audience participation. But it didn’t stop there Jocelyn quickly took to the mic and floored us all with her powerful rendition of Adele’s Hometown.

If anyone’s been missed, apologies, things were starting to get a bit hazy by then. Thanks so much to Pete and Paul and to all who attended and took part, not to mention those kind souls who regularly offer up prizes for the raffle only to spend a fortune trying to win them back! All profits go towards the upkeep of the hall.

But the question on everyone’s lips for the moment is 'when are we doing this again?' The answer – watch this space.

As some of you will know, my good wife Pam took ill last week. She was in hospital with a serious clot, but thankfully she's now back home on the road to recovery. It'll take time and plenty of rest. As a consequence, I have not had much time to reply to correspondence such as texts or emails. I will be back to work this week, so adult classes are back on tomorrow and children's are all on this Saturday. Onwards and upwards :) See ye there

Going back to the nineties tonight for adult group classes. Come and have a go if ya think you're hard enough :)

02/04/2015

Happy Easter to all my guitar heroes. I hope you are all set for the break. Remember, we are away for this weekend and next. Back on the 18th for Saturday children's classes. Try and get some playing done :)

29/03/2015

The next term for children's beginner guitar lessons is now completely booked up. I will email those of you who have paid their deposit with a confirmation update this week. I'd like to thank you for your enrolling your child for this course and look forward to meeting you all on the 18th April in Strathbrock Community Centre at 1pm. Any queries you have, please don't hesitate to contact me here. For further information, please visit www.peteguitar.com Pete :)
