Little Stars Childminding by Kellie Welcome to Little Stars Childminding by Kellie. My name is Kellie Broadley and I am a registered childminder living in East Calder, West Lothian.

I am registered with the Care Inspectorate and the Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA). I have experience working within childcare for 9 years and I am a parent myself to two little girls. As a parent myself I know how important it is for children to feel safe and secure. I aim to create a home from home environment.

Q&A | As a parent, why did you choose childminding?

"I really wanted my little one to go to a kind and caring environment with lots of outdoor learning opportunities. So now, he is with someone who cares for him and has his best interests at heart.

"There are so many fantastic play opportunities indoors and outdoors to help him learn and grow. His childminder listens to the childrenā€™s interests and plans new opportunities for them every week.

"We have been able to build a great relationship with his childminder. He has made so much progress with his speech from being in the environment with other children. His interests are always noted and ways to develop these are then planned. He has delicious and healthy food when he is there, which has encouraged him to try new things. He loves to go and always comes home happy.

"The adventures he has every day are wonderful and we love hearing about his day; it always makes us smile. We are kept up-to-date with his progress with a photo journal, which we absolutely love looking through ā€“ and I know my child is in a safe and loving environment and I couldnā€™t wish for a better setting for him."

A little bit about meā€¦

My name is Kellie, and I have decided to take the leap and start my own childminding buisness.
After almost 9 years working in early years as a practitioner/supervisor, I felt it was time to change paths and work for myself. The last few months Iā€™ve been busy behind the scenes gaining my registration to become a childminder.

Iā€™m based in East Calder, West Lothian. I do drop offs and pick ups from both East Calder and St Paulā€™s Primary.
