This is not just football... this is High Bank JIN School football! Last week saw our outstanding win of 4 goals to 2 against Howard Park Community School 🏆 Come and support us again at 3.30pm, Tuesday 24th March as we limber up for our next match against Birstall Academy ⚽️

🟢 Tue 24th March - Grow to school in for our outdoor learning session. Wellies are still a must but so are sun hats as the weather is warming up 🍒
🟣 Tue 24th March - High Bank Football Team vs Birstall Academy (school field, 3.30pm) 🥅
🔴 Thu 26th March, 3.30pm - Easter Fayre in the hall and MUGA. Tokens can be bought via payment link or in the office. 🐣
🔵 Fri 27th March - Non uniform day for all children in celebration of being House Point Winners!🎉
🟡 Mon 13th April - School re-opens and our new free breakfast club starts at 8am! Everyone welcome and food is served until 8.30am. 🥣

Thank you Let June, your support for our school & families is invaluable 💙

We’re delighted to share some lovely feedback received from High Bank JIN School after Let June successfully secured a Winter Essentials Grant. ❄️

Thanks to this funding, the school has been able to purchase 60 pairs of wellies for their children to use in the outdoor garden and field, and to take home when needed. With the wet British weather turning their field into quite a quagmire, these wellies are helping ensure children can continue to play outside while keeping their feet warm and dry.

The school shared that without this support, several children may have struggled during the winter months to have suitable footwear, which can also be costly for families if shoes are damaged in the mud.

Thank you to High Bank for the kind feedback and for sharing photos of the children enjoying their new wellies!

Congratulations to our Book in a Box winners Harriet, Dara, Henry, Kadi-Mae and Elliot. With a special commendation to Lydia-Louise & Otis for their entries too!🎁 World Book Day (UK & Ireland) was certainly a day of creativity, stories, books and reading 📚

We've welcomed back Living Eggs and the children have watched chicks hatch in Hockney; Hargreaves have been exploring different animals and materials we may find at the seaside; Hepworth created some fantastic leaflets in IT; Ounsley have been re-enacting a trial in Saxon times; investigated patterns in height and length in Bronte and linked our history and art together in Armitage for block-painting HMT Empire Windrush. 👩‍🎓

We finished the first half term of 2026 on a high learning all about Chinese New Year with Hockney; combining groups and numbers in maths with Hargreaves; on a treasure hunt with Hepworth; exploring rectilinear shapes with Bronte; putting our excellent sewing skills to the test with Armitage and comparing local maps with Ounsley ✅

A huge thanks to all our families and our Kirklees Mayor, Councillor Liz Smaje, who enjoyed Book & Bagel with us again this year. It was a great success with over 50 families attending over the two events. 🥯📖

Hello February! How have we finished a whole month of learning in 2026 already? We've been on a bear hunt with Hockney Class; worked together to identify features of non-chronological reports in English with Hepworth Class and investigated how exercise affects the heart rate in Science with Ounsley Class ✔️

February is just as jam packed:
🟢 Tue 3rd Feb - Outdoor learning with Grow to school. Don't forget the wellies as the wet weather has created lots of mud 🥾
🔵 Wed 4th Feb, 9am - KS2 Book & Bagel event for families with a visit from the Mayor 🎓
🟠 Fri 6th Feb - Non uniform for Maths Day, wearing shapes, spots, numbers to help us raise funds for our maths' resources 💯
🔴 Thu 12th Feb - Valentine's disco, get your tickets on ParentPay. 2pm EYFS & KS1 and 3.30pm KS2 🎫

Thank you to our families for being an amazing audience for this year’s nativity. We’re sure you’ll agree the children were just wonderful 🌟

This year the theatre visited school so we could avoid the hefty £1,000 transport costs - and they did not disappoint! We had a fantastic time and can’t wait for them to come back next year 🎭

Now we’re ready for the last week, so get your Christmas calendars at the ready:

🎄 Monday 15th December - Tokens for the fayre ready to buy in cash, card or via ParentPay after lunch too 🔴

🎄 Tuesday 16th December - last Grow to School outdoor learning for 2025. Don’t forget change of shoes & coats ☔️

🎄 Wednesday 17th December - Christmas Jumper Day ☃️Christmas dinner served by staff to the children 🍲 Christmas Fayre at 3:30pm via main entrance 🎅🏼 Raffle tickets available to buy before hand via the office.

🎄 Thursday 18th December -Christmas Carols at Mowat Court with Hepworth Class 🎶
