As we have been watching our little blue tit friends fly in and out of our bird house and been listening to the sounds of the baby chicks
I set up this invitation to play which inspired further curiosity ✨🐦

At our last little ninja's session we learnt about 'Shodo' ('the way of writing')

Which is a traditional Japanese art form and meditative practice of writing characters using an ink-dipped brush.
It isn't about perfect brushwork, it's about focus, control, and building those fine motor skills. Learning to hold the brush, control the pressure, and follow the stroke order all help develop the same kind of body awareness and coordination we work on across everything we do in our little ninja classes.

It's also a visual art form and a meditative practice of mindfulness.πŸ’š

Mark making is a crucial developmental activity in early years.
Perfect for strengthening them little hand muscles, hand-eye coordination, and grip strength children need to eventually hold pencils and write letters also.

A spot of 'YOGA'
I absolutely love this book which is perfectly aimed at children and catches their attention instantly as they engage and interact with every page moving their bodies in different ways. Lots of sounds used too especially giggles!
