Public speaking is an invaluable skill to have if you're serious about a career in leadership.

The Art of Communication and Leadership is a four week informal course taken by experienced toastmasters of Toastmasters International Warrington.

The course is free and designed to help you;

· Overcome the nervousness everyone feels when asked to speak before an audience

· Organize and present your ideas logically and convincingly

· Offer advice that will help others improve their speaking and leadership skills

· Participate in – and even lead – group discussions or meetings

Each session is 90 minutes long and will be held at 6pm on the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th of March.

FMLM National Conference 2015 - call for abstracts

Calling all medical students - registration and abstract submission for Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management's National Conference 2015, 'Leadership for the future' is now open!

The conference, in partnership with NHS England and the BMJ, takes place 24 - 25 February 2015 at Manchester Central, with a pre-conference Education Day running on 23 February, and submission on the following sub-themes are welcome:

- Leading change
- Patient-centred leadership
- Digital leadership
- Leading integrated care
- Standards of medical leadership and management

The winning poster presenter will receive a free delegate registration to the FMLM National Conference 2016. Runner-up prizes will be available and all presenters will receive a certificate of poster presentation. More information and instructions on abstract submission can be found on the FMLM National Conference website.
