A few years ago, a client came to me in tears.

Remember.. this is a somatic practise, so we pandiculate, that means it’s a tightening of the muscles just so you can feel it. The magic is in the slow release and then complete rest/ melt. Ever wondered how we work with the vagus nerve in somatics?
Through both movement and therapy, we support the nervous system by creating safety. This means allowing the discomfort of past states to be felt and acknowledged — so they can be released — helping your system return to a sense of balance and safety.

This isn’t always a quick process. Depending on your personal experiences, it may take months, sometimes longer if the patterns go back many years. It also depends on what you’d like to achieve and how long you choose to work with it.

The good news is that the process begins to make a difference right away. As your nervous system shifts, you’ll notice changes in how you feel, think, and respond to life. We’re often told to “stretch” or “strengthen” when we feel tight, restricted, or in pain. But what if your brain is what needs rewiring from re-learning how to connect and use your muscles again, allowing you to feel them activate but then focus on the relaxation when you choose to stop tensing and allow them to melt and let go. In clinical somatics we call this a PANDICULATION.

Clinical Somatics is a powerful, slow movement practice that helps release long-held tension from the inside out — by changing the way your nervous system controls your muscles. No stretching, just lengthening and release.

It’s especially helpful for chronic pain, posture issues, and movement difficulties caused by injury or stress or prolonged tension held in the body. But most importantly it’s really gentle and suitable for anyone.
