Dey do doh don't dey doh!
Following on from yesterday’s Scouse School Exchange, today we delivered Scouse School (Original) — and it was a Boss Day.

The session explores Scouse history, accent and lingo (including a Scouse sing‑song), culture, food, a tour and plenty more. Lots of laughs, great conversations and a real sense of shared learning throughout.

It was lovely to see colleagues getting involved, sharing experiences and enjoying a day that celebrates Liverpool and the many different stories connected to it.

✨ Scouse School Exchange at LHCH ✨
A brilliant day yesterday at Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital bringing colleagues together from LHCH, LUHFT and LWH for Scouse School Exchange.

Lots of great conversations, shared learning and the chance to connect with people from across our group. It was fantastic to see so much energy in the room and to hear different experiences and perspectives being shared throughout the day.

🎉 This week we proudly hosted our first Scouse School Exchange – a brand new extension of Scouse School designed to celebrate the incredible diversity of colleagues across the NHS. 🌍💙

The day was packed with powerful moments, including our Human Library, where people became the books and shared their personal stories, journeys, and lived experiences. We also explored the rich cultures, languages, and celebrations of our colleagues’ countries, the rich values of Allyship – and of course, sampled some truly amazing food along the way! 🍽️🙌🥳

The feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re looking forward to delving deeper into the impact when we come back together to reflect and evaluate.

This was a real team effort, embodying the values and purpose at the heart of the Scouse School programme – connection, learning, and celebration. 🙌

Following the success of Scouse School, where our international recruits learn all about Liverpool life, we’re now flipping things around!

Reverse Scouse School is all about giving our wider workforce the chance to learn more about the incredible cultures, stories, and experiences our international colleagues bring to University of Liverpool Hospitals Group

We’re looking for willing participants who would be happy to:
🎥 Feature in short films sharing their culture or experiences
📚 Take part in Human Library sessions — where you become a living, interactive “book” for colleagues to meet, listen to, and learn from.

This is a brilliant opportunity to share your heritage, traditions, or personal journey — and help build understanding, connection, and pride in the diversity of our workforce.

This weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting another Scouse School, welcoming our amazing international recruits as they immersed themselves in all things Liverpool! From embracing the Scouse accent to exploring the city’s culture, the group fully engaged in every activity, making it another fantastic session.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part—we love seeing our global colleagues connect, learn, and truly feel at home here. 💛
