Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work ๐
A reminder that a healthy workplace is about people.
These stats highlight the real impact work-related illness continues to have on individuals, businesses, and communities. Behind every number is a person whose health and wellbeing has been affected.
When employee wellbeing is prioritised, everything improves: focus, productivity, morale, and long-term success. ๐ช

Redefining Performance and Wellbeing: Radical Resilience โ๐พ
SO Health is proud to be commissioned by the to create and deliver RADICAL RESILIENCE, a specialist leadership programme focusing on the wellbeing, power, and resilience of Black and Global Majority Leaders.
Leadership for Black and Global Majority changemakers often means navigating inequitable systems that lead to isolation and burnout. We recognised that traditional "resilience" often just means "endurance." Together, we built a dedicated space for recovery, sustainable power, and radical solidarity.
This project was built on authentic co-production. We conducted a deep consultation phase with activist leaders and senior managers to ensure the curriculum met the needs of Global Majority Leaders.
Over 7 months, we saw a profound shift from "survival" to enhanced empowerment:
๐ฆบ Safe Spaces: 100% of participants valued the environment where "code-switching" was unnecessary.
โ๐พ Strategic Advocacy: Leaders learned to speak truth to power while protecting their own energy.
๐ท Economic Benefit: By preventing burnout and retaining diverse leadership within the Liverpool City Region, we are building a more sustainable, equitable, and vibrant economy.
An extra special thank you to LCR Race Equality Hub for commissioning this much needed programme, and to our associate consultants , , , , , and for their invaluable contributions during the programme.
True leadership requires a foundation of wellbeing. When our leaders thrive, our whole region thrives.

We were delighted to support the team at Aigburth Drive Hostel during their recent staff training day at .
Facilitated by our brilliant collaborators at NeuroTriage, we delivered sessions exploring endings and beginnings, letting go, inclusive stress management, mindfulness, and practical wellbeing tools for frontline teams. We'd like to thank all the staff for their openness and contributions throughout the day. ๐
Aigburth Drive Hostel is a Harm Reduction Service supporting men to manage alcohol use, delivered in partnership between and SHAP Ltd.
In England alone, there are over 1 million alcohol-related hospital admissions each year. Services rooted in harm reduction, compassion and trauma-informed practice are more important than ever.
Supporting the people who support others strengthens communities, and it is at the heart of what we do.
๐ If youโre a looking to invest in staff wellbeing, weโd love to collaborate.

Saeed also shared the importance of checking in with ourselves: setting weekly intentions, tracking small wins, and showing up more fully for the people who matter most.
๐๐พ Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and shared their stories, including the other โMen Who Inspireโ: , , , โ and of course Lord Mayor .

At SO Health, we believe the most impactful leaders arenโt just driven, theyโre rooted, nourished and well. ๐ฟ๐ฟ
Thatโs why we created the RADICAL RESILIENCE programme: a space for leaders, health workers and changemakers to reconnect with themselves, recharge and build sustainable wellbeing practices for lasting impact. ๐ช๐พ
Over 6 months, we guide an incredible group through:
โ
Somatic movement & nervous system care
โ
Breathwork, reflection & regulation
โ
Deep connection to purpose, community & joy
โ
Culturally-informed and lived experience support
This is resilience beyond just bouncing back. Itโs about rising, staying grounded and leading from wholeness.
Why Radical? Because choosing joy, healing, and vitality while working for justice is bold, and necessary. โ๐พ We deserve to thrive as we build better systems. ๐ซ
If you're leading, holding space, or advocating for others, your wellbeing isnโt optional. Itโs essential.
