Seventeenth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A - Faith is a precious treasure.
God turns everything to our good. God gives us a wisdom by which we can discern true values in the world around us. Our greatest gift is faith, which gives us a deeper wisdom even than that of Solomon.

Sixteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A - The Spirit is our help.
We are a people full of weakness through our sin. We cannot pray for repentance unless the Spirit comes to help us in our weakness. Our God is mild in judgement, and we pray that God's mercy will be with us, so that like wheat we will be gathered into God's barn.

Thank you all for sharing the last ten years. It has been a privilege to share part of your journey. The many Sunday Masses and meals, Tuesday CathSoc, all the faith sharing and fun along the way. Marking special moments of baptisms and confirmations. Not forgetting times on retreat and pilgrimages to France, Spain, Poland and Rome. Thanks to all our wonderful chaplaincy assistants over the years (who did all the work anyway). May God continue to inspire, guide and protect you all. Pray for me too, Fr Ste

Fifteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A - The seed of faith.
God does nothing in vain. All our suffering has a meaning, and through it we are deepened in our spiritual lives so that we yield a rich harvest. The world longs for the Spirit of Christ to come and set us free from clinging to the things of this world.

Fourteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A - Christ's yoke is easy and his burden light.
Christ, even though his is the Son of God, humbles himself and comes among us in human form. He embraces our condition and knows firsthand our worries and anxieties. Through the Holy Spirit Christ lives in us, so that we may find rest for our souls.

Thirteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A - If we die with Christ we shall live with him.
In our daily lives we are called to take up our cross and follow Christ, knowing that by joining him in his suffering we will be joining him in eternal life. We are dead to sin and alive to God. There is within us a new creation as we welcome Christ daily within us as our new life.

Twelfth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A - Do not be afraid.
We have no need to be afraid since God is always at our side supporting and strengthening us in times of weakness and temptation. The evil effects of sin are swallowed up in the victory of Christ. He gives life to our souls and with him we have no cause for fear.

Eleventh Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A - Christ our reconciliation.
We are reconciled to God our Father by the death of his Son, and we trust that God will give us new life through Christ's resurrection. We share in his Gospel and proclaim to everyone that the kingdom of heaven is close at hand. This is the mission that we share with all the followers of Christ.

The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) - Christ our food and drink.
Just as in our physical lives we need food and drink to sustain us, so also we need Christ to sustain our spiritual lives. He feeds us with himself, just as God fed the Jewish people with manna in the wilderness. Our sharing of the Body and Blood of Christ means that we share with each other Christ's eternal life.

The Most Holy Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Through our life in Christ we live the life of the Trinity. God is a perfect community and if we model our lives on the Trinity, then the God of love and peace will be with us.

Pentecost - the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Church.
The message "Jesus is Lord" is to be preached to every corner of the earth. We cannot do this unless we receive the Holy Spirit. Today we pray that we may be open to the power of the Spirit, and that the Spirit will come and fill the hearts of the faithful.
