Recycling is great, but itโs not the only way to reduce the waste we produce. ๐๐
Buying what you need, swapping the way we shop, reusing what we have and passing on the rest are all better ways of dealing with waste than just chucking it in the bin!

How amazing is this? The initiative, run by Veolia - UK on behalf of Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority, is helping to make a real difference in our local communities! ๐
We love seeing how Litherland Youth & Community Centre is being creative and using the donations to create a beautiful community garden that everyone can enjoy. Itโs proof that small acts of kindness can grow into something truly special. ๐ฑ๐
The GoodBox is a new project that matches unwanted materials from local Recycling Centres with community projects supporting reuse across the Liverpool City Region. Every little bit helps to make our communities greener and more connected.
๐ฆ Find out how you can join in here: https://www.merseyside-and-halton.veolia.co.uk/GoodBox
Together, we can create a cleaner, greener, and more connected future. ๐

Nicola will be showing visitors how to deal with stains and rips to clothing. Karen, an expert upholsterer, will be sharing her skills. Madeleine will teach how to darn holes in knitted clothes.
Rachel from Veolia's Gillmoss Recycling Discovery Centre will be there too to remind us what can be put in our grey recycling bins, now the rules have changed to include more items.
As usual, our repair team will be ready to fix a wide range of broken or non-functioning household goods, and hot drinks and homemade cake will be available in the cafรฉ area - all free of charge"

Today is World Environment Day!
Why not use it as a clean start -
๐don't buy what you don't need
๐purchase durable long-lasting goods
๐ชrepair what can be repaired
๐give your unwanted items to others.
The more we do this the less waste we have to deal with. ๐
