🎭Our Sixth Form students recently travelled to Manchester to watch King Lear at the Royal Exchange Theatre, bringing their A Level English Literature studies beyond the classroom and onto the stage.

Experiencing Shakespeare’s tragedy as a live performance gave students the opportunity to explore the play’s powerful themes of power, family, betrayal, loyalty and human nature, while seeing how actors, direction, staging, lighting and sound can shape an audience’s interpretation of the text.

💌 Our first Teacher Mail of the academic year has arrived, and it was extra special to see our Year 7 pupils taking the time to share their kind words and appreciation for our staff. 🥹

It is wonderful to see our newest Edwardians already spreading positivity and recognising the people who help make their College experience so special.

🇬🇧 Our first British Values PD Day focused on democracy, giving pupils the opportunity to explore representation, rights and responsibilities through real-world experiences and meaningful discussions.

A huge thank you to Byrne MP for visiting the College to discuss his role as an MP and how elected representatives serve their constituents.

We are also grateful to Refugee Women Connect sharing perspectives on life in countries where democratic freedoms may be limited, helping pupils understand the importance of rights, representation and freedom.

Thank you to our St Edward’s Pupil Parliament for representing student voices and highlighting how pupils can contribute to positive change within our College community. We would also like to recognise our Year 13 Politics students, who delivered a presentation on democracy and shared why they chose to study Politics at A Level.

These experiences help our young Edwardians develop informed opinions, appreciate different perspectives and understand their role as active, responsible citizens.

⛪ On Sunday, our College community and Runnymede came together at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King for the annual Mass celebrating St Edward, our patron saint. This important occasion provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on our shared faith, celebrate our College’s heritage and strengthen the bonds that unite us as Edwardians.

🇪🇸 KS4 & KS5 Spanish students arrived safely in Spain and spent the day visiting Elche, Las Salinas de Torrevieja and ending the day with a turrón tasting!

🎨 Our Sixth Form Art students recently held a pop-up exhibition outside the Sixth Form Café, showcasing some of the fantastic work they have been creating recently.

It was lovely to see pupils and staff enjoying a warm coffee while taking the time to admire the creativity, talent and hard work on display. A huge well done to all of our Art students for putting together such a brilliant exhibition!

💜 What a wonderful evening at our Old Edwardians’ Dinner on Saturday!

It was fantastic to welcome so many Old Edwardians back to the College and see our alumni come together to celebrate being an OE!

It was a pleasure to welcome back Former Principal, John Waszeck, Former Deputy Principal, Dominic Mackenzie and Former COG, John O'Brien.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, supported the raffle and took part in the auction. Your generosity will help us continue to provide valuable opportunities, equipment and experiences for our current pupils.

Finally, special thank you to FOSEC, Palmer & Howells, Estates Team, Sixth Form students and everyone else who played a part in making the evening such a great success.

✈️ Year 11 spent their last morning taking a walk along Dunkirk Beach, giving them another opportunity to reflect on the history of the area and the events that took place along this famous coastline.

They made their way to the beautiful seaside town of Le Touquet, where pupils had some time to explore and experience a little more of northern France before beginning the journey home.

A huge well done to our Year 11s, who have been an absolute credit to the school throughout. Their behaviour, attitude and respect at every place we have visited have been fantastic and we are incredibly proud of them.

🍫 Year 11 spent the day exploring the beautiful city of Bruges. They enjoyed a walk alongside the picturesque canals, taking in the incredible medieval architecture and some of the city’s famous sights, including the Belfry of Bruges, Burg Square and the Basilica of the Holy Blood.

Pupils had some free time in De Markt, where there were plenty of opportunity to explore the shops and, of course, indulge in lots of Belgian chocolate!
