Thanks to the generous support from University of Liverpool alumnus and senior international business leader, Dr Huw Jenkins, a new Chair will be established supporting the leadership of the University’s new Centre for Clean Energy and Environmental Technologies (CEET).
Dr Jenkins' support enables the appointment of the inaugural Jenkins Professorial Chair, who will also serve as the founding Director of CEET and maintain an active and internationally recognised research portfolio. The Chair will be based in a department aligned with their academic expertise.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tim Jones said: “We are extremely grateful to Dr Huw Jenkins for his generous support. This significant investment will help us to attract outstanding academic leadership to the new centre and put us in a strong position to deliver real-world impact through our research and innovation."

Thanks to a legacy gift from University of Liverpool alumna Ruth Hildegard Cannell, languages, cultures and film students from under-represented backgrounds are able to access transformative year abroad opportunities. 💙 🌎
The Ruth Cannell Scholarships Fund will support undergraduate students from widening participation backgrounds who are preparing to undertake a year abroad.
Ruth described her time at the University as some of the happiest years of her life, and her lifelong passion for languages, travel and learning continues to inspire future generations.
We are sincerely grateful for this generous support.

1996 ➡️ 2026
After 3 decades (not long in geological time) our Geology and Physical Geography graduates reunited for a long overdue reunion at the Jane Herdman Building on the University of Liverpool campus.
The afternoon included attending a research group lecture before a drinks reception, where many stories were shared reminiscing on field trips with peers and attending academic staff, before a tour of the old and new teaching facilities and old campus haunts.
Thanks to everyone that made the day memorable.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last week. It was fantastic to see graduates from different years, industries and backgrounds coming together to network, share experiences and make new connections within the Liverpool community.
A big thank you to our amazing Singapore Alumni Ambassadors for helping bring the community together and supporting the event on the evening.
We hope the conversations and connections continue long after the event itself through our Singapore Alumni Network, WhatsApp Community and future alumni activities.
