💚 Creating calmer classrooms, one child at a time.

One of the biggest impacts of the Mike Carden Health & Wellbeing Grant has been on emotional wellbeing and self-regulation.

From sensory rooms and regulation resources to weighted blankets, calm backpacks and therapeutic spaces, schools are giving children the tools they need to feel safe, settled and ready to learn.

From forest school sessions to growing spaces and wellbeing projects, the Mike Carden Health & Wellbeing Grant (Established in memory of Food For Thought founder, Mike Carden) continues to create opportunities that make a real difference.

£65,914.94 was awarded to 37 schools in the 2025/2026 school year, supporting projects that have benefited 9,708 pupils. A fantastic achievement that will have a lasting impact across our school communities. 🌱

We're delighted that our donation of high-visibility vests has helped St Anne's Catholic Primary School recognise its lunchtime helpers and celebrate the fantastic job they do.

Giving children opportunities to develop confidence, leadership, kindness and responsibility creates a positive impact that reaches far beyond the playground.

Eight of Liverpool's parks and green spaces have been awarded prestigious , recognising them among the very best in the country. What a fantastic achievement for everyone involved. (One of them being Everton Nature Garden, thank you so much to for letting us use the space)

At Food For Thought, we're proud to support schools that help children connect with nature, learn where food comes from and develop a love of growing. Green spaces like these play a huge role in inspiring healthier, happier communities.

We were delighted to support the Young Marketeers event at Liverpool ONE, organised by School Food Matters.

It was fantastic to see pupils from local schools proudly selling the fruit and vegetables they have grown within their school communities. The enthusiasm, confidence and knowledge on display was brilliant to see, and we were pleased to support several of our member schools by purchasing some of the produce they had grown and made.

Events like this help inspire a lifelong appreciation for growing food, healthy eating and valuable life skills.
