Round 1 Instrumental Birth Delphi Consensus Survey
08/08/2025
Where do you get your information about birth?
As part of the Birth Options work we have created core information sets for caesarean birth to go alongside sets for vaginal birth and induction of labour. 📝
This involved a Delphi process where we gather points about caesarean birth from survey responses, systematic reviews and patient information leaflets. These points are implemented into a two round survey where people rate whether or not this information is vital to know about. 🧠
This resulted in 3 sets of information. One for the antenatal period which tells you all about unplanned and planned caesarean birth. A second for in an emergency situation where birth needs to happen within 30 minutes where there is little time for discussion and a postnatal set to discuss the implications of a caesarean birth.
Some of this information is now available on our website www.birthoptions.co.uk, we would love to hear your feedback ✍🏾
