Shaping Futures

Yesterday we had some time away from the 'everyday' and enjoyed a morning of reflection, looking at our future plans and developing our offer to ensure our learners are getting the best possible from us! . We took time to continue our excellent bond as team with an afternoon walk, in the rain and sunshine (in equal measure!)

Yesterday afternoon, Jess made her third and final visit to to share an Introduction to HE with year 8

Today, Joanne and our wonderful student advocates have been back to Croxteth this morning for week 9 of 12 of our Reading Project

Ellie visited the The Grange Academy, Runcorn yesterday to deliver Shaping Futures’ LMI assembly focusing on opportunities across the Liverpool City Region

We discussed growth sectors including digital & creative, health and life sciences, advanced manufacturing, green growth and maritime & logistics — helping students understand where future jobs and skills are in demand

Jess has been back to this morning (second visit of 3 this week!) to talk to introduce the year 9s to Higher Education and the options open to them beyond school

Jess has been out at today (first visit of 3 this week!) to talk to the year 10 cohort about post 16 pathways

Yesterday Jess visited Kirkby High School to deliver our Study/Debate Skills session with their Year 9s

Our Inclusive Transitions booklet has been updated for 2026 and now has a dedicated section for learners in Year 10 and 11.
The booklet has been designed to support learners with SEND as they make decisions about their Post 16 education and future career. It encourages them to consider their own support needs and shows them how to access relevant services in Further and Higher Education.
The second half of the booklet is aimed at learners in Year 12 and 13 and supports them through the university application process.

Ellie and our fantastic student ambassadors are very happy to back in .Hawthornes for a second year running delivering the reading project with a small year 7 cohort.
